Narrative:

Gorgutz. Wants. It. All.
And on his conquest for it all Gorgutz and his boys find themselves deep within the Canyons of Murad IV. To the warboss' suprise however, the barren wasteland is far from uninhabited. The denizens of this great Kanyon have pledged their allegiance to a local weirdboy named Tuska. An ork that got his hands on an ancient eldar relic which, is said to have immense powers. Gorgutz likes power, Gorgutz likes pointy stick. And so Gorgutz will kill ANYONE who dares to keep pointy stick away from him.

Overview:

Hello guys and thanks for taking a look at my second Dawn of War 3 custom map called: Tuska's Big Kanyon. It's a 2v2 ork themed map that is quite different in layout from what you're used to. At the start of this project I really wanted to toy around with depth and thats how i came up with this idea. Compared to my first map this one is way more symmetrical. With resource points almost perfectly evenly spread. that's not to say that this is an ordinary map. It has 3 distinct landmarks that all have their own unique pros and cons. in this overview i will quickly fill you in on how they work and the design philosophy behind them!

Spawn Areas:

Both the northern as the southern parts of the map are the spawnpoints for both teams. The north is where Gorgutz's boys made planetfall (the start of the canyons) and the south is home to Weirdboy Tuska. Each side has three rotation points that grants them access to the center "islands" where they'll find the majority of the resource points.

"Da Big Skrapyard"

Located on the western side of the map; this massive junkyard (or goldmine if you're a greenskin)is designed for close quarter confrontations. It has narrow paths and many ways for you to flank and suprise your opponent. It is the fastest side of the map to get to your opponents so there's alot of high risk high reward into dropping a forward base here. There are also secret routes hidden between the piles of junk. I wont spoil them for you so goodluck finding them! (it's pretty easy, dont worry.)

"Skullhead Island"

Located at the center of the map; Skullhead Island houses two juicy resource points. One has the elite point generator, the other has four resource modules! Though extremely challenging to hold, gaining control over these points is what will allow you to snowball out of control. The elite point generator is located at the bottom of a pit, that is guaranteed to make for some interesting combat engagements. (Jump-units and skimmers are extremely good at destroying army formations here!)

"Just a Desert"

To the East there's a desert. just an ordinary desert. seriously though it has 3 resource points and nothing else. It is very isolated from the rest of the map, since it does not have a direct connection with the map's centre area. Do not underestimated it though, as It can be used for several things. You can for example put sneaky forward base here to build up an army and completely suprise your opponent, or just as a failsafe for when your spawn area is being attacked.
