Description
[STABLE BRANCH - MARS BASE "VANILLA"]

Test Results: Catastrophic Failure.

Primary Findings: Wall heaters are an ignition source for an explosive atmosphere.

Secondary Findings: EXPLOSIVE HAZARD When melting ice for fuel mixture, do not mix ingredients in an open atmosphere.

OSHA Summary: Melt Two parts Volatiles ice and one part Oxite ice in a vacuum chamber. Melting is slowed due to instantly low temperature. Start Wall heater to make ice melt faster. Explosion of the atmosphere resulted. 1 Scientist was trapped inside the now rapidly exploding vacuum chamber. Hardsuit was quickly burned as Scientist exited Vacuum chamber. Scientist scrambled to pressurized hydroponics airlock and managed to operate the airlock before losing consciousness. Scientist notes after regaining consciousness that the fire is still burning, and no other spacesuits have been manufactured... atmospherics seems to be failing... where's my tablet? Did that explosion take out my oxygen processing?


FINAL REPORT: MARS BASE MISSION AT RISK DISTRESS BEACON ACTIVATED.



NOTE: This is a challenge situation. Several items are not correctly configured, and may present obstacles to successfully stabilizing your air supply.You are missing several tools, and even your spacesuit. This is not for beginners.

You're welcome! I was able to survive this on my save, but it wasn't easy, even knowing where everything was and how the base worked. It was a lot of fun playing it through so I thought others might enjoy it as well. I'm considering producing a HARD MODE to this challenge if it is well received, as the amount of resources available does make it a little easier than intended.
