Naoto S

Description
[no longer being supported]

Though she may be frail and lack kill power, Naoto can suddenly turn the tide of battle in with the Fate Counter, allowing her to instantly kill her opponent.

Naoto can place Hair Trigger Megido mines (nair and dspecial) and fire shots from her Up Special to gradually deplete the Fate Counter from 13 to 0. Once it is fully depleted, Fstrong and Ustrong will instantly kill the opponent, rather than being combo starters. These strong attacks may also be used in midair, similarly to Wrastor.

Neutral Special: Aim Stance; Naoto aims her trusty revolver and quickly fires off a shot. Can be cancelled into from dash attack and Fspecial.

Side Special: Double Fangs; With two kicks, Naoto leaps forwards, spiking the opponent on the second kick.

Down Special: Hair Trigger Megido B; Naoto drops a landmine, which detonates on contact with an enemy, subtracting 1 from the Fate Counter.

Up Special: Anti Shadow Suppression Pistol; With a backflip into the air, Naoto brandishes a rifle, blasting the opponent with a long range shot. On hit, it subtracts 3 from the Fate Counter. As it grants poor recovery potential, it can be jump cancelled for extra distance.

As of playing playing this character recently, I've been having a lot of fun with it. But in being late to the party, I'm quite curious as to what the original Naoto was like. If it isn't too much to ask, could you make a separate mod of the unbalanced version? Thanks a lot. Keep up the work.

I wish you could pick which way to jump and where to shoot with up-b

@Zetta, I appreciate your enjoyment and detailed critique of the character.

I had originally made the Uspecial to be double jump-cancellable because otherwise it was a crappy vertical recovery, though it seems I overdid it.

How much slower would you suggest I make Mudoon and Hamaon?

The change to Uspecial's fate amount is something I've been considering for a while, though wasn't sure about. I think 5 -> 3 is fair.

I'm so happy this exists!!! I love how faithful and fun this character is!
Though, there are a few notable things that make the character feel too strong as of right now.
-Neither Up or Side Special put you in special fall, meaning you can act out of them. this means you can recover from crazy distances by combining the techniques with your regular and air jump. It also allows you do combo a lot of Fate very quickly.
-Mudoon and Hamaon both come out way too fast, and combo into each other. This allows you to have a giant free confirm into pretty much your entire moveset.
-Uspecial should probably give less to your Fate gauge, seeing as it's now a normal move instead of a special. Possibly 2-3 instead of 5. If this seems too weak, you could make Dstrong do one point of fate as well. This should be a mechanic you have to work for, and as of right now it's simply too strong.

I cannot stress enough how fun playing this character is, it's just in dire need of some balancing.

i would suggest that you bring the fate counter down to 10 and give a little more height.

If you have any specific suggestions on how to balance Naoto, I'd like to hear them.
