Hiigaran Flak Frigate

A large grid Frigate-class vessel best suited for providing anti-fighter & corvette protection for larger capital ships, although it can be used in large groups to deal heavier damage to larger enemy craft through sheer overwhelming fire.

Summary:

This is a pretty simple ship really, essentially just a large-grid flying gun platform designed for Anti-fighter work- I didn't build it the first time around for two reasons 1) we don't have flak-cannons in vanilla and at the time I was avoiding modded weaponry, and 2) it's ugly as sin. As it happens though large-grid Gatling turrets are a great stand-in for Flak cannons and will shred small-grid fighters and lightly armoured large-grid ships in no time at all; I did my best to capture the look of the real ship from HomeWorld 2, but it's still a dumpy looking thing given the need for internal space for hidden thrusters and such. It is fairly quick to accelerate though and handles fairly well without being comically fast and agile given it's size and intended purpose.
