Extended Hagia Sophia

Description
Convert the Hagia Sophia

The Hagia Sophia in Constantinople has a special event that allows it to be converted between owners with Orthodox, Catholic, and Muslim group religions. While this allows Muslim characters to activate the Great Work, they cannot benefit from most of the unique upgrades available for it, nor can they build any Muslim upgrades.

The event also has a bug that prevents the description from changing like it's supposed to, and in some cases may cause the conversion event to fire repeatedly, or not fire at all.

This mod fixes that bug and extends the conversion list to include the remaining Christian group, Jewish group, Pagan group (including Hellenic), Buddhist, and Hindu religions.

The list of available upgrades is also extended to include most of the upgrades from the other Great Temples so that after you convert the Hagia Sophia you can build your own religion's upgrades in it.

Zoroastrian, Jain, and Taoist characters may also convert the building, but those religions have no unique Great Temple upgrades available. You might consider getting a mod that lets you destroy wonders instead.

Lastly, the conversion event will now destroy any existing upgrades that are not usable by the converting religion. This might be annoying if the AI does it to you, so be warned.

Note that some upgrades can only be built by certain religions, but may be used by any religion. These include the Bells, the Soup Kitchen, the Cave Complex, and the Hospital. These upgrades, and any generic upgrades, will not be destroyed when converting the Hagia Sophia, so it should be possible to collect them.

The event fires automatically after the Hagia Sophia changes ownership. It checks if the new owner and the county of Constantinople have a new religion and then sends a message asking if the owner would like to convert the building. You might have to wait a month or more for it to happen.

tldr
  • Fix bug in conversion event that misflags the wonder
  • Extend list of religions available for conversion
  • Extend list of possible upgrades
  • Conversion destroys unusable upgrades to make room

Updates
Extended to include all the remaining religions, fixed a bug introduced when I added the christian group.

Is it possible to build a minaret? I don't see it in the list for my Shiite character

Unfortunately, the hagia Sophia bug where the message appears infinite amounts of time, persists even with your mod. Probably its outdated?

Fix bug in conversion event that misflags the wonder

->Unfortunately, I still suffer from this bug so the conversion event fires repeatedly on my campaign even with your mod.

i like how the conversion bug gives you extra 600 piety xD
Maybe it gives you 200 piety for every minaret

i tried to make the mod as minimally invasive as possible: it has two uniquely named files that overwrite very specific entries that are limited to the hagia sophia itself. i was worried they changed the vanilla entries in a way that might affect the crusades but i'm not seeing anything like that. is it possibly a conflict with another mod? i tried to eliminate that possibility so any more info you can give would help

Hey does this mod affect the crusades in any way? i am having a problem where the mod seemingly cancels/overwrites the crusade preparation events

Thank you for the answer.

i haven't tried it but i would say probably not. it looks like they change the same files i do here. if anyone wants to combine them or copy or change this mod in any way, feel free.

Does this work with HIP cities of wonders by any chance?
