It has been 25 years since the Boshin War began. Long and bitter has the struggle been. Only two years prior, the Shogunate Army had launched what it believed would be the campaign to turn the tide of the war. The campaign ultimately resulted in a tactical withdrawal, denying the Shogunate of the strategic victory it so badly needed. Now, in 1892, the Shogunate's situation is dire. Imperial forces have been continually tightening their grip on Japan, chipping away at Shogunate territory. The Imperial's industrial edge and greater manpower is undeniable, and defeat seems inevitable for the Shogunate.

The month is May. The Grand Imperial Army has marched on the Shogunate Capital. The Shogunate Army, responding to the threat, aptly took up the Siegeworks surrounding the outskirts of the city, eventually stretching them further South when it was discovered that the Imperials were trying to capture the railroad supplying the Capital.

Time is of the essence. It is only a matter of time until the Grand Imperial Army commences its full attack on the Shogunate position. Should the railroad's defenses fall, the Shogunate Army will have no choice but to withdraw from the city. The fate of the Shogunate rests on the coming engagement. Who will prevail?

Supports any number of players. To play as the sieging force, pick team 1 (the left team in the battle setup screen), and to play as the besieged force, pick team 2 (the right team in the battle setup screen).
