4-4-2 Attacking

Have you always wanted a solid 4-4-2 that you can rely on? Well, here it is!
As a team, players are encouraged to make the pitch as wide as possible, whilst also playing a short passing game. This should keep the opposition chasing shadows, so when your attackers run at them, they don't know what to do!

GK
There's not much to say here, other than get the best goalkeeper you can! He is set to distribute the ball to the defence mostly, so as to keep hold of possession.

DEFENCE
The defence is very important, as the rest of the side will be concentrating on attacking. Make sure you get the best defenders you can!
The full backs are told to hold their position, without trying to get forwards too much, so that you don't get caught out with a counter attack.

MIDFIELD
As with any good 4-4-2, you have to have quality attacking wingers. Being told stay wide and get to the byline for crosses, your strikers should have some great service.
Now the key in the middle is to have balance. On the left, we have the ball winning midfielder, who has to have great stamina have a good tackle. Whilst on the right, we have our advanced playmaker. He is encouraged to dribble more, in order to cause havoc in the opposition's defence.

STRIKERS
We have a deep lying forward up front, to act as the link between the midfield and forwards, and alongside him, a poacher. This player is encourages to shoot on sight, whilst also making runs into the channels to pull the defence out of position.
