C-615 Fafnir - Cargo ship

C-615 Fafnir is a long range cargo hauler. Its main features are 4 jump drives with one large cargo container, basic protection and a lot of electrical power. Modless, airtight, survival ready, has fancy lights just like real planes have and uses MMaster's Automatic LCDs 2
Fafnir has left and right connector below the entrance and one connector paired up with a merge block on the bottom which allows to carry wide array of additional modules for mining, thrust, weapon systems... anything you need, stable and directly connected to the whole conveyor system that can be also easily and quickly disconnected.



9 small reactors provide enough power to recharge all 4 jump drives in 7 minutes with only 15 uranium ingots. 2 batteries serve as the main power source for all other actions.

The ship uses cockpit block for it's high number of LCD panels, better protection than the standard flight seat and the cockpit itself is further protected with bulletproof windows. All LCDs inside the cockpit run MMaster's Automatic LCDs 2 script to keep the pilot well informed about ship's gas levels, available cargo, jump drive status, damage and more. This design also provides excellent view forward and to the sides.






I spent several days testing C-615 in both survival and creative mode. 4 spotlights light up everything well for when you are closing to a trading station. Unlike my other designs, C-615 has connectors below the doors so it's compatible with vanilla trading stations. On the other hand I missed ladders that can't be mounted there permanently now. After landing on a planet, scaffolding or jetpack is needed to get back inside. Maximum speed is 8000km every 7 minutes with enough uranium which for a ship of this size and without speed mods is insane. C-615 is indeed just a cargo hauler, neither a refinery nor an assembler are present but some of the three oxygen generators could be replaced. The ship moves primarily using jump drives, hydrogen thrust is for places where jump can't get you. There is also no antenna, just the beacon. I could not find any place the antenna because it's so big and would stick out very far, I didn't like that.





- note: if you want to start up after shut shutdown, make sure you are connected to active source of energy. Automatic shutdown turns off all of ship's power sources. To make start easier, you can press 1 on cockpit toolbar 9 to turn on internal batteries. Ships reactors will be automatically turned off after startup.
