Custom Footsteps

Description
This mod has three objectives :

- Put default soundsteps back for DLC heroes (Flag, Shieldbreaker and Musketeer) and for every workshop hero.
- Give people the ability to create some dedicated footstep sounds for their hero.
- Give modders the ability to get surface sounds for their new dungeons / areas.

===============================
How does it work ?

Well every hero footstep sound is contained under the same sound event. It's not possible to have multiple mods that will modify this event. The different sounds are selected according the hero .id (that you will find in the "hero.info" file), which should be unique.

Just by installing this mod, every hero (up to .id 99999999) will be assigned to the default "light" footstep sound. Every new dungeon (up to id 999) wil get a default 'dirt' surface.

===============================
How can you have specific sounds ?

--- Easy thing: ---

If you want your hero to sound heavy (crusader/vestal/maa) instead of light, it's an easy update that I will gladly do quickly.

--- Custom sounds: ---

If you want to integrate specific sounds for your hero you can send me a request. Remember that it only makes sense for heroes having very iconic stuff, like jester bells and abomination chains, and also that footsteps sounds are very discrete.

You should prepare multiple audio files (about 5 to 10) with the layer you want to add, then we'll see if we can integrate them.

===============================
INSTALL :

This should simply work.
It won't be compatible with any other mod modifying the heroes footsteps, that's it.

Hello, this request may be too late but any chance for a heavy footsteps version for all modded heroes? If not, than how can I go about replacing footstep sounds myself please.
Looking at the JSON files, I assume load_order.json is only for the custom footsteps listed above, whilst guid_override is for every other modded hero class. Would simply changing the "guid_override" line turn all light steps to heavy? (I'm not a modder, cheers)

Hi !
Your mod doesn't work in my game :(

I'm a French user. I use mods : dungeon sunward iles, new class, boss, ennemies...

Added default heavy on a few heroes, plus custom layer for the Itinerant Cook. Also boosted the volume by 2dB, so it will be slightly louder than without the mod.

Well I really wanted to add footstep sounds to the thorn. It's a bit tricky and exclusive so I just wanted to offer other modders the possibility to add custom sounds too. That's why it's a dedicated mod and not included into thorns files.

I don't understand how you could have thought of doing something like that. Before this mod, all your mods were quite good, but this?
