Description
I'm back again and I've improved that cheap INI edit I did a while ago!

In a vanilla Chosen Retaliation mission, you get 6 Resistance Militia soldiers and 13 Civilians to rescue. This mod removes 3 civilians to add in 3 more Resistance allies because an ADVENT pod needs 3 - that and I was not willing to change the spawn schedule (is that the right thing to change in the Config?) right now.

So, this mod is better than the other two because it adds in Skirmisher Troopers and Officers! This means:

1. The game no longer treats them as enemies in the spawning process so that you can get back your near-20 enemies on hard Chosen Retaliation missions!
2. The game doesn't show their health bars - a setting that can only be changed when creating a game unit.
3. You can more easily differentiate enemy units and friendly units in game - more of an immersion thing for me. There's a non-zero change I will go back and change blue to white in the future.
4. Your new allies do not show up as enemies in the Shadow Chamber!
5. The Resistance soldiers no longer benefit from Dark Events like Viper Rounds, Undying Loyalty, etc.

NOTE: Previously, all units added had grenades but after seeing some... irresponsible use of such explosives resulting in civilian deaths, they don't anymore. Additionally, that weird thing where they seem to be shooting nothing appears to just be a graphical bug and just means they were going to miss. I didn't mess with animation sets or the likes so I'm guessing this is just a bug in the game or due to some other mod I was using.

Your new allies are more robust than just some random people in t-shirts with ballistic weapons! Additionally, if you have Double Agent Resistance Op enabled, you might get one of these blue officers as a bonus soldier!

Earlier, these soldiers used the Skirmisher name generator but because of XCOM 2... things, if I enable that, the units will behave like ADVENT units and therefore be able to fire one shot before they are revealed.

If you want to edit the units added, just go to the config file. It's mostly self-explanatory/

Project Ideas (Separate mods):
- Lost Bomb - a Mimic Beacon-like object that could be thrown to spawn in 5-6 controllable disposable Lost for your own purposes.
- An in-game GUI for letting the player choose what unit shows up as the Resistance Militia soldiers.
- Alien civilians for Haven Assaults - the problem is that any unit I set as civilian for Chosen Retaliation missions are not considered civilians by the game. If they live or die, they are not counted. I'm currently working on a solution to this - might just add aliens in Resistance pods but make it so that they have no turns.

Yes, I'm using A Better ADVENT alongside other mods in the videos and pictures.
ABA was very useful in the near-eternal process of learning how to use ModBuddy and create in-game units.

I saw an Officer shoot another Skirmisher Trooper that is a part of his own pod wtf???

hi, i'm using this mod playing as advent against imperium (warhammer40k) and in my haven defense no advent resistence was present,i must install the original mod along with this one?

@Valvatorez You're right. ADVENT uses human skeleton and animations. I have an INI edit coming up that will complement this mod.
