The Paragon Mk II is (as the name suggests) the second iteration of the NCI's standard naval fighter, the Paragon. Shortly after the production, adoption, and export of the first Paragon fighter, the shortcoming of the fighter became rather apparent and even troublesome, so the NCI moved to completely redo the ship instead of attempting to recall and retrofit the original design.

The Paragon Mk II is very similar in its design to the original Paragon, including the triple engine setup, the same armaments, and the ship's signature large atmospheric maneuvering wing above the hull and engine nacelles. However, the Paragon Mk II improves on many of the original Paragon's design flaws.

The Mk II features include a new cockpit design, replacing the old tempered safety glass and aluminum cockpit with a newer, smaller modular cockpit surrounded by a reinforced plasteel and carbon fiber shell. The Mk II's flight systems have been improved to allow for more precise and fine-tuned control while flying in any condition. The ship also features the NCI's first iteration of impulse and atmospheric assistance thrusters on small ships, making interplanetary travel safer and more fuel efficient. The ship has even received an improved landing system, featuring landing assistance lights to illuminate the pad or ground below the ship when touching down.
