Concrete Turbine

Description
Concrete Turbine

The turbine interchange is regarded as one of the best system interchange design. The use of gently curved ramps allows vehicles to go at almost free flow speed. Compared to a stack, the turbine have a low vertical occupation to the expense of a larger footprint due to the need of wide radius curves to maintain reasonable slopes.
This specific turbine configuration is what I would call "above and below". The ramps start by going at the opposite elevation of the crossed highway, then change level during the 90° left turn to cross the highway they came from, before merging with the through lanes.
Other configurations exists where the ramps are flyovers from start to end and go always above the main highways. I will make more turbines in the future.

Technical details
  • Like all the interchanges, this one must be placed on perfectly flat terrain to get the best results.
  • The connections are at ground level, the maximum elevation is +4 m and the minimum is -4 m.
  • It uses the awesome Concrete Highways by Clus. The asset uses the plain versions. If you want to achieve a look similar as in the pictures, you can simply upgrade the roads with the desired barrier version. I also used the standalone fences found in the same collection.
  • You will need Fine Road Tool to get the elevations right, and Fine Road Anarchy to be able to drag roads from the interchange.

I added an image in the end showing how the size of my latest interchanges compare to the vanilla cloverleaf.

Let me know what interchanges you would like to see next ;)

Like a T Bone but rather than a exit to both sides. it is just one and without roundabout (Ehm, hard to explain...

Thank you! I don't really see what you mean, do you have an IRL example ?

Really Like this one. Would you mind making a T Intersection and a Exit to 4 or 6 way (2 or 3 both direction) Really like this one tbh

Got it, thank you Pamani. That would be great.

Thank you :) Well I could. But Realistic HWY is just an intersection with decorations. Using it would restric me on the possible merging angles. What I could do instead is decorate my interchanges using the same technique Dexter used.
