Knooppunt Ridderkerk (A15/A16) by twixman1978

The Ridderkerk interchange is a large interchange south-west of the city of Rotterdam connecting the highway A15 with the A16.

Highway A16 runs from Breda/Dordrecht in the south towards Rotterdam north of this intersection and includes the van Brienenoordbrug (bridge over the Nieuwe Maas).

Highway A15 runs all the way from Arnhem (East of the Netherlands) to the Europoort (westcoast).

The complete interchange consists of two parts, knooppunt Ridderkerk which you can find here (most of it, since it is so large you will have to connect the roads yourself by using Google Maps) and a second part south of this interchange that fysicaly joines the A15 to the A16 for a few kilometers (south to north) before splitting them again going south-to north (A16) and East to West (A15). I will also build an publish this part of the complete interchange and add it to my Rotterdam collection so you can complete the south part of the interchange.

Knooppunt Ridderkerk also connects through a local road to the centre of Ridderkerk and Slikkeveer, two small urban city located next to Rotterdam on the east side of this interchange. This connections is allready included in the interchange.

Just southwest of the interchange is the small city of Barendrecht located and northwest IJsselmonde and Lombardijen (part of Rotterdam) these interchanges will be published seperately to connect to Knooppunt Ridderkerk in the west.

To the north knooppunt Ridderkerk will connect to knooppunt Beverwaard (also published in my Rotterdam collection) wich connects the A16 with the van Brienenoordbrug and the local road going to the soccerstadium "de Kuip" also known als Feyenoord Stadium. It also connects to "Oud Ijsselmonde" and "Beverwaard" east of the A16.
