The Seven Samurai

Description
*Important* due to issues most likely caused by myself you will now need to subscribe to my other mod "Gekokujo" that I had not intended to be public as I think some files have cross referenced this mod. Sorry for the inconvenience.


You are Kambei a war weary Ronin sworn to protect a village of farmers from bandits. You must gather another six Samurai with no money and only the promise of food. The villagers cannot support more than seven and that shall be your limit throughout your endeavors. Can you lead the Seven Samurai to victory against the merciless bandits?

This mod is very loosely based on the 1954 Japanese film Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa. It includes the main cast plus a number of the villagers and bandits, but also includes a lot of other characters both fictional and from Japanese history. It has a number new minor factions including, but not limited to:

The Yonju Bandits (Think 40 bandits).
The Doshin (Samurai police).
New locations including Izu village.

I have play tested it a fair bit, but there are probably still some bugs. To complete the main quest you must bring the Bandit leader to the Village Elder dead not alive. I made this mod purely for myself, but since I put quite a few hours into it I thought I would release it to anyone who might be interested.

Hi DJPelotas sorry for the late reply I've have been away for a while. The armour vendor is behind where your character starts against a broken wall. It's an outdoor market stall. You will now need to subscribe to Gekokujo another of my mods that I had not intended to make public due to a mix up when I was editing it hopefully this will solve most of the issues.

The village armour store is a market stall at the opposite end from the bar / near a section of broken wall. The shopkeeper sleeps on top of the inn at night & tends to get dragged into fights when the village gets attacked. There are two bandit camps one in the hills (north?) of the village. The other camp is (south?) of the waystation in a horse shoe shaped camp. Thanks for the info on the other characters it may help unravel the mystery around the dialogue crash.

I started with Kambie and was able to recruit Katsushiro, Shichiroji, Heihachi, Atsuo, Gorobei without problems. I'm also not sure where the village armour store is supposed to be at? In addition, I can't seem to find the bandit camp that is supposed to be located to the north of the village. Instead I see a bandit vilalge towards the west of the village. Hope these help. :steamhappy:

What characters were you able to recruit without problems? If I can look at the dialogue packages from the ones that are OK maybe I can isolate the problem.

Awww that's sad. It's all good though because I just had to recruit someone else instead of Kikuchiyo.

Unfortunately something in the recent Kenshi updates is causing the problem. I suspect that it’s to do with the language localizations as it now causes my custom recruitable characters to crash the game when you try to talk to them. I have thought of removing this mod because of it, but I keep hoping that I will find a workaround because I put several hundred lines of dialogue in the game.
