If the material or the textures have any illegal characters in their names (for example dot) the game will crash everytime it tries to load up the model. I recommend going over all the material names and texture names in Blender (or Autodesk maya if that is what you use) and see if any of them contains any illegal characters.

Know any reason why a weapon mod would crash on equip or compare?

Darn, well thanks then. Guess I'll have to figure out how to get it into the FFXV mod manager. The original mod creator listed where he got the models/textures, so I'll just have to figure out how to import that into a mod.

Currently there is no known method to unpack mods from the steam workshop, at least not that i am aware of.

Right on, my big thing is if there is something I can use to unpack a current mod just to edit a texture file then repack it? Was surprised at one of the weapon mods in the workshop and love it, but the creator hasn't logged in for over a month and the weapons are a little washed out/not the right colors. Plus, ocd me can't handle small cap descriptions lol.
