Description
We were notified that December 6th is the Finnish Independence day.

As such in honor of the Finnish independence day, today's release is the BT-42.
___

The BT-42 is a conversion done by the Finnish military shortly after the Winter war where they were severely lacking in any form of armor. 56 BT-7s were captured by Finland and due to the vehicles being just as outdated as what they had, the idea came along to stick the vintage 4.5 inch howitzer supplied by Britain into a rebuilt turret in an attempt to make them at least serviceable.

The resulting 18 converted BT-7s resembled the the KV-2, making the tank top heavy, and overweight. They were pushed into service in early 1943 seeing their first combat as part of the Continuation War. Initially the BT-42 had to fight fortified positions and soft targets, its performance was acceptable. However crews very quickly came to hate their tanks when faced with T-34s. During first engagements with T-34s there were zero recorded penetrating shots even when hit from extremely close ranges that also got the BT-42 destroyed in the process...

As a result the Finns developed a HEAT round for the 4.5 inch howitzer based directly on german ammunition and should have had a roughly estimated penetration of 115mm. Unfortunately they did not take into account ballistic properties of the 4.5 inch howitzer, which as a result regularly failed to arm the shell's fuze when fired.

In the last battle the BT-42 fought in, 9 were deployed to Vyborg. A single one of them recorded 18 direct hits on an enemy T-34, none of the shells penetrated, and the russian tank wasn't immobilized. 8 of the BT-42s were destroyed in the fight racking up an impressive zero kills. Shortly after the BT-42 was cut from service and replaced by the StuG III.

___

The Budget BT-42 is a machine built for multiverse. Its 128 blocks total allowing multiple people to be using It or other budget tanks that are balanced between each-other for combat. The BT-42 is poorly armored, but mobile with a mid powered x2.5 artillery gun. While it has poor range it can reposition easily however suffers from poor gun elevation.

This vehicle was built by Oltsu and passed on to me for minor tweaks and uploading.

Mobility is meant to mimic the BT-7 Artillery in world of tanks~
