How to Enable/Disable DOF
In order to enable/disbale DOF you need to go to:

My Documents - Square Enix - Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY - BmGame - Config - BmEngine

Once you do that use search (F3) and search for "DepthOfField", then you need to write False for disabling or True to enable back again.
Did work?
Well did this work for you guys? I mean notice any difference? If yes tell me below.

Just wanted to add my thanks. I tend not to like DOF in most games to begin with, but the way they implemented it in this game quite literally gives me a headache.

I know this is a long necro, but this thread is the first result on google and couldn't find anybody suggesting this on other results.

For me the OP solution alone did not work. I needed to also set the DepthOfField=False in UserEngine.ini in the same folder. So both in BmEngine.ini and UserEngine.ini.

This does make the city scenery look pretty awful when outside, but still much preferred to having it on.

Thank f-u-cking God. I hate DoF in my games. The human eye can in fact see for more than 5 meters you know.

I just wanted to add that, using that FOV by pressing F7 (or your assigned key) affects games zoom (M), so if there's trouble, let the game save itself and try without F7, for example some riddles may not work properly.

You can also change camera position a bit farther from Batman. IMO it's way too close, same problem as in Resident Evil games. You can increase Field Of View like this:
Add this line:

Bindings=(Name="F7",Command="fov 100")

(Use fov 100 or whatever you like, try what suits you)

to:

Square Enix/Batman Arkham AsylumGOTY/BmGame/Config/BmInput.ini
