Description
This map represents the terrain of the many valleys of the Pamir Mountains in Tajikistan and Kirgizstan.

These highlands have few areas that can easily be built upon, but the mountains hide vast coal reserves, and the lower valleys have considerable oil. The mountain villages and towns are connected by winding dirt tracks, but the main valley sits upon the ancient silk road, and can be crossed from east to west more easily. You have trade connections with the Uzbek and Turkmen SSRs, as well as the non-soviet nations of Pakistan and China.

This is part of the Real Landscapes of the USSR series, click the collection link above for more.

This is probably the best map in this game. Beautiful mountain landscape, challenging but very playable geography, good balance of resources with a distribution that rewards spreading out over the whole map and building into the mountains. The starting settlements and infrastructure are just right to provide some character to the map without getting in the way. The river is very artfully crafted, this is the only map I've seen that has a believable waterfall using real (0 elevation) water on both sides.

@Austria Hungary I believe it was an actual valley in Tajikistan, not sure if I could remember where though, somewhere to the east .

I love this map! What area did you get the height map from specifically?

Awesome, I've been wanting a more Central Asian or Middle-Eastern themed map, thank you my friend!
