Description
Mayor Calvin Heller has been generous and financed a metro line leading to your prison. People who come to your prison will no longer need to walk down a road. They will go by Metro instead and get off at a Metro Station.

Staff and prisoners can also travel by metro to quickly overcome long walking distances.


USAGE
  • Place Metro Stations at strategic positions in your prison. They are used by people who happen to walk into it: staff and prisoners don't know these metro stations exist.

  • Specify the Metro GROUP and NAME. The name is used to show detailed destination info in the tooltip. Groups are used to cycle more easily through the names.

  • The station scans and calculates destination versus other Metro Stations on the map: entity gets moved to nearest Metro Station if needed, or walks further to its destination. Selected staff and prisoners can use it.

  • When using the EXTERNAL GROUP then visitors, teachers, parole etcetera come and leave via this station:

    - CEMETERY -
    Used by Cemetery visitors (if you have that mod).

    - CHAPEL -
    Used by Spiritual Leaders.

    - CLASSROOM -
    Used by Teachers.

    - EXECUTION -
    Used by execution witnesses.

    - EXIT -
    Build an enclosed prison with 1 pathway leading out, and place this station on that path to lure people going into it.
    Creates special very tough Metro Doors and very slow walkable water beneath, in order to prevent outbreaks.
    Used only by released prisoners, leaving Firemen, Paramedics, RiotGuards, Soldiers, sacked Dogs and Lottery Officials.

    - PAROLE -
    Used by parole members.

    - PRISON -
    Used by arriving people if no other dedicated stations have been placed for them.
    Released prisoners, leaving Firemen, Paramedics, RiotGuards, Soldiers, sacked Dogs and Lottery Officials require an EXIT metro station.

    - VISITORS -
    Used by visitors.

METRO FLOOR
This new floor material is made to slow people down while passing through a Metro station. It is needed at Staff Metro stations, because it takes a few moments for the station to cycle through a big entity list.

By default the station will usually spawn more metro tiles than needed. Using one or two rows of these tiles can be sufficient, sometimes you need three rows.

Metro Stations have a scan radius of 2 tiles with the roof object being the centre.

NEW IN THIS VERSION
Many restrictions of the original Metro Stations mod have been taken away:
  • Metro stations can now be rotated after placement.
  • You can now have more than 1 station of the same station type: if you have three chapels with a chapel station next to each, then the spiritual leaders will take the nearest station to their chapel. Same for teachers, visitors and parole members.
  • You can toggle rotation, type and size after placement, change them later-on
  • Stations can now be deleted with a button.
  • Transparent roofs, sellable metro sign, changeable roof objects (sell to spawn a new random one)
  • All metro stations can be found in the Staff Menu, so they will spawn immediately after placement, no Workman needed to construct.

CHEATS/DEVTOOLS
If you play a map with Cheats/Devtools enabled, you can have more detailed information about the pathfinding: press F9 and check the Navigation box. When selecting a Staff Metro, you can press F3 to open up its debug window, which will print out what the station is doing.

COMPATIBILITY
This mod is compatible with the old Metro Stations mod. Existing old stations on your map will be upgraded with a Delete button. You can still use those stations and mix them with the new ones. I've even left the old metro stations in this mod so you can build those as well, be it with their restrictions. New and old stations have slightly different sizes, so you have more choices.

If you want to upgrade a prison with the old metro mod, then load this mod on top of the old mod in your modslist, open your prison map, deactivate the old mod, and save the map. Manually delete the old mod from the mods folder (the name is 1094000135) to prevent weird issues. Restart the game, load your map and continue.

Supported entities: Workman, Guard, ArmedGuard, Doctor, Orderly, Cook, Gardener, Janitor, DogHandler, Dog, Sniper, Warden, Chief, Foreman, Psychologist, Psychiatrist, Accountant, Lawyer, SystemAdministrator, ComputerNerd, SimulationOfficeManager, YogaMaster, GraveDigger, PrisonFireman, LotteryOfficial, ForestryWorker, BarberChief, Barber, CarMechanic, CarMechanicHelper, CraneOperator, SmartPhoneGenius, GardenWorker, GreenhouseWorker, PlantationWorker, Tailor, TeslaMaticExpert, ShadyTeslaDude.

IMPORTANT
This mod scripts the Visitor, Execution Witness, Teacher, Spiritual Leader and all Parole members. You must place this mod above interfering mods which might also define these entities.

Silly question, but can you bring prisoners through metro stations? to prevent them to escape through the road but also not wanting to use the helioport because it's too much to bring low security prisoners by helicopter.

I will have to test that to see if I can reproduce this issue.
Perhaps the stations were somehow screwed up on the map, no idea.

Hi, I am having an issue with this mod and executions, every time I try to assemble the witnesses the game crashes. I know it is this mod as I have already tried uninstalling it and the execution went through just fine, then I had to reinstall and reset all of my stations which kind of sucks, I tried using both metro types to see if one or the other was the issue but it seems to happen with both. By the way have you been paid yet? I think Paradox owes you some royalty checks or something with as many of your mods they have ripped off, they should hire you, I'm sure you would do a better job than these half assed developers.

Update is coming, I will also add a button to toggle the wall type and deal with the renderdepth issues since the latest game versions. And repair compatibility with 2018 Anniversary.

This mod requires an update to deal with newer staff members not listed above.

The path from point A to point B should be walkable all along,and the station is just put on top of it, so anyone who happens to walk in will be teleported if needed. See the video at the screenshots.
