What does this mod do?

‘NPC Faction Names Redux’ replaces the default name lists used to procedurally generate names for NPC factions. This mod is designed to give more ‘realistic’ names to the factions you buy and sell from. With this mod, you can encounter factions with names like...

⦁ Extrasolar Mining Corp. (miners, ESMC)
⦁ Allied Freight Service (traders, AEFS)
⦁ Sino-Soviet Engineering Corp. (builders, SSEG)
⦁ And many, many more.

This mod contains 53 prefixes, like ‘Interstellar’ or ‘Allied’, and 38 different suffixes, like ‘Shipwrights’ or ‘Trading Corp.’, which vary based on the faction type (miner, builder, or trader).

Why?

This mod was created because I don’t particularly like the vanilla name choices such as ‘Enlightened Sappers’ or ‘Merciless Cartel’. They seem awkward and out of place in a space game, so I decided to change things up a bit.

I might try that. We haven't made much use of the economy yet.

@Ace - Unfortunately SE generates economy faction names on the first load of a world, so this mod wouldn't do anything. However, if you turn off economy in world settings, load the world, and then turn it back on again, it SHOULD repopulate the factions. This would have the side effect of removing all stations and possibly zeroing your credit balance, so you would have to start the economy part of the game all over again.

@Deserter This mod's names are dependent on faction type. For example, a faction called 'United Extraction Technologies' sells ore, while a faction like 'Martian Shipworks' sells prefab ships.

As @seronis has said, SE generates factions using random name lists. All this mod does is change the names on those lists.

Thats the same thing. Factions in SE are generated from a prefix list and a suffix list. There are no default premade factions, only name part lists.

The names do not reflect the essence of the fractions.
The game has builders, miners, componets makers. They have matching tags.

Economy mods is a cool thing anyway. Like
