Description :
This is an alternative take, a more cinematic one, on a combat particles for Black Mesa. This mod replaced majority of Muzzle Flash effects for Player and NPC's, Barrel/Grenade/Rocket explosions, Tau Cannon particles and all Impact Effects.

I highly encourage you to subscribe to this addon , which replaces majority of weapon and explosion sounds with brand new, more beefy sounds. BMPEP feels a lot better with these sounds installed, I'd say they're quite essential for full experience.















Known Issues :
Sometimes Smoke and Flares will render behind certain objects, despite appearing in front of them. There's nothing that can be done right now with this, that's just a quirk of Black Mesa deth buffer & Source Engine alpha sorting. I'll try to look into it in further updates.

I've got a weird bug for you:
After going to Xen and starting the three-part vine puzzle, one of the routes requires that the player drop down into a pit to see a bullsquid shooting at an HEV headcrab zombie. Consistently, regardless of which order I complete the puzzles, the second the bullsquid spit connects with the HEV zombie, my game crashes to desktop. Removing this mod allowed the game to continue normally. I had no issues from it before, and I put it back after the next map transition and haven't had any issues since.

I am using a zombie animation mod. Unclear whether it's PEP not playing nice with the game or with the zombie mod, but I'll be letting them know about this issue as well.

Otherwise, fantastic work! :D

hi can this work with original explosion fx mod ? which changes explosions only , or with custom weapons models ?

look at the 357. The muzzle flash appears after the recoil and that's not how guns work.

Fire on some maps that were place still uses the hl2 version
