Cargo Pod - CM-6XL
A new modular creation by the Helios Foundation This particular ship (if you can call it that) is a Cargo Storage module meant to dock with other compatible ships in the Helios Foundation line-up. It can amazingly enough land and take off from most planetary and atmospheric conditions with a fully loaded cargo hold.

The only reason this CV looks like a "brick" is to maximise on module space. The upcoming "Super Tanker" (yet to be named) will be able to hold up 6 modules of this size. Different modules will be added to the line-up to expand mobile base operations and capabilities.

This ship comes with a Captains Quarters in the event that personnel have to wait over night to get things loaded into the cargo holds. Access ramps to ground level for manual transfer of personnel and smaller cargo containers.

Good to know: When all Cargo Holds are at full capacity, the ship will naturally move a lot slower.

This ship is meant to be supported by a mother ship design in order to allow them to jump around the galaxy map.

Side note - I honestly wish that there was a way to merge ships and set a master cockpit, then fly the whole thing as one unit, but maybe down the line we will see this as an option. In the meantime, I will continue to try make this as painless as possible.

@RvnHawk - Thanks man, I'm glad you found a use for it. I've said it before, but I will mention it agiain, I have a CV planned to carry this and other similar modules. Next one I have in mind is a Garden Pod with a load of grow plots. I'm considering this to be compatible with Reforged Eden as well. Since that scenario encourages modular or specialised builds. :)

man Kithid, don't know why it took me so long to discover this build but it's friggen awesome. Got one copy sitting in our space station and another sitting in the hangar of my destroyer. Well done sir

@Podwangler - thanks mate. I'm glad you found a use for it in it's own right. Would you have any screenshots to share in regards to the Modifications you made? 🙂

Absolutely love the concept of these two ships, but the Cargo Pod is the one I use regularly, having hollowed out the centre to house a warp drive and attaching a mining turret plus a few defence turrets, it's a great mining ship in its own right! Love the industrial feel of this pair, really feels like proper big, dirty, industrial pieces of equipment.

No worries mate, it's all good. I just pointed to something that it can actually dock with. That model will be my standard for docking rings more or less with any builds that would require it. :)

Thanks for the reply and for the information, I wasn't trying to rush you or anything, just wondering

@Geck0 it's a fairly large build to be fair so i put it on hold for now. This module does however dock with a docking port at the rear of my 'Farpoint Station', should be on the first page of my workshop page.
