Description
In real-life DXC 5520 used to be DX 5045, but was rebuilt as 5520 after an accident in 2002. When 5520 was repainted in the KiwiRail livery in 2010, the painters mistakenly did the red and grey the wrong way round, but only on the ride-hand-side of the locomotive.

The repainting was done at Hillside Workshops in Dunedin. The mistake wasn't noticed until the locomotive had gone all the way up to Christchurch. As a result, DXC 5520 was called straight back to Hillside, to have the painting mistake corrected.

As well as the red/grey being the wrong way round, there were also white numbers on the right side of the cab, with black on the left. This detail has been replicated in this reskin. I only managed to find one photograph to prove this, but it was only in a magazine. Since then, I have only been able to find one photograph of 5520 with the colours swapped, and in that picture, the right-hand cabside numbers are black.

On a personal note, I had the pleasure of seeing DXC 5520 while I was in Christchurch in November 2018.

The 1st update of this reskin appeared in one of Frantic's videos:
