Description
(Updated to use the new standard texture set, which the original didn't use)

DSG 3208 was built in 1982 by Toshiba of Japan, entering service in May of that year. She is part of a class of 24 shunting locomotives, who's technical specifications are listed in the 'DSG 3127' page. As with all other DSG's, 3208 was originally painted in the International Orange livery.

In 1997, the whole DSG class was fitted with shunter's refuges. These are extensions to the locomotive's frame at both ends, which allow for the driver to remotely operate the locomotive while outside the cab. But for whatever reason, 3208 remained in International Orange, otherwise known as Fruit Salad.

DSG 3208 was the last of her class to retain Fruit Salad, not being repainted until February 2010. The locomotive has spent the vast majority of her life in the South Island, which is where I saw her in November 2018. As for the location, it was Middleton depot in Christchurch.
