Ultimate Durnehviir

Description
Makes Durnehviir extremely powerful instead of useless. Requires Dawnguard (duh)

Goes great with my other mod, Ultimate Odahviing.

12/1 UPDATE: I have increased the duration of Durnehviir's summon from 3 minutes to 9 minutes. Less resummoning in extended battles now!

THE PREMISE:

Durnehviir is originally seriously underpowered in fights in vanilla Dawnguard. It was generally a waste of shout cooldown to summon him. This is caused by him sharing his attacks with enemy dragons, which are balanced to the player's health, so his attacks will be largely ineffective against more powerful high-level enemies or dragons.

This mod gives Durnehviir his own unique dragon breath attacks that deal massive amounts of damage, and greatly amplifies his melee damage as well. His drain life shout will provide a much faster draining effect on enemy health now and his frost breath will be able to obliterate enemies in a single blast. I enjoy playing with mods that add increased spawns and large battles around the overworld, so Durnehviir now becomes well worth the shout cooldown necessary to summon him, able to decimate entire groups of enemies and singlehandedly turn the tide of a battle in your favor.

HOW IT WORKS:

All this mod does is give Durnehviir new unique versions of the frost breath and drain life shouts that do in excess of 1000 damage each, way overkill for most weaker or low-level enemies, but just enough to still be able to take out enemies with the highest health. Remember that he tends to do a lot of flying around, so when he does attack, you want it to count. His melee damage modifier is quite high as well, so you'll be able to enjoy seeing him do killmoves on weaker humanoid enemies fairly frequently if he gets within bite range of them.

Now all that damage obviously spells instant death for the player and friendly NPCs if they're hit by it, so I've taken a couple measures to prevent this from happening. First off, his attacks all have conditions on them that cause them to do no damage to the player or any followers currently with you, so in case he somehow were to aggro on you or a follower he would be harmless. This generally doesn't happen anyway though, and is mainly a holdover from my Ultimate Odahviing mod where I ran into some issues like that in beta testing. The way Durnehviir's factions are set up, he'll always be friendly towards you, your followers, or any other NPCs who are friendly towards you. Point is, you are safe while using this mod and don't have to worry about getting accidentally one-shotted.

Also, this mod is 100% SAFE TO USE EVEN IF YOU HAVEN'T COMPLETED THE DURNEHVIIR BATTLE IN SOUL CAIRN. The changes I've made in this mod do not affect the version of Durnehviir you have to fight in the Dawnguard Main Quest battle with him, so you can keep it active on a new character and he will only become ultimate after you gain access to his summoning shout.

COMPATIBILITY:

I designed this mod to be compatible with literally any other mod out there with no conflicts. Durnehviir is the only existing actor modified by this .esp. I highly recommend you use this mod in conjunction with Deadly Dragons (if you don't use it already). It will allow you to modify enemy dragons' health and damage to your liking. I designed my powered-up shouts with the high-level versions of the dragons from Deadly Dragons in mind (I usually play with them set at anywhere from 300-600% health based on how many followers I have with me). Vanilla Skyrim dragons tend to be really weak, so you'll definitely want to amp up their stats if you want some truly epic dragon battles.

Make sure to download my Ultimate Odahviing mod as well. It works in the exact same way as this mod only for Odahviing and both can be active at the same time. Make sure to place both mods AFTER any other mods that make changes to dragons in your load order. Odahviing and Durnehviir are the only two NPCs edited by my mods and they don't make changes to any other existing dragons or dragon attacks, so you want to ensure they're not being overwritten by a larger dragon mod.

That covers everything, report any issues or suggestions you have to me in the comments. Thanks and enjoy!

Is it this mod that adds a specific variant of Drain Vitality for him to use? Because I've been getting the words to a 'Durnehviir's Drain Vitality' shout from Marked For Death word walls since I installed this mod.

I usually just suummon him for the hell of it. Having him flyin' about slayin the bandits I can't reach or shoot is quite useful. Besides, the sight of a decomposing dragon with mid-skin-sloughing-off wings and exposed sterum would probablly freak out them bandits. So yeah, Durnehviir's my ultimate homie. (Also, You can summon him in Apocrypha and ride him in Skyrim. Yeah, baby!)

Durnehviir is already super powerful, i don't really see a reason to make him even more powerful other than to make him overpowered.

Can you, author, tell me what this mod does?
I've finished the main "Dwanguard" DLC, I killed the Vampire Lord (Serana's father), and obviously I went to "Soul Cairn" and found the Elder Scroll and set free this dragon - I already swan him during battle in Skyrim.

So... what your mod does with him?

Will he still teach you Soul Rip or whatever it's called?

Well I usually use him against a stronghold of enimies, and he usually just kills them all with one shot, so maybe thats why, the battles dont last long with him out ^^

The one where he summons the skeleton dudes? It still works in my game, maybe you're just not getting lucky, the AI randomly decides what shouts he'll do.

Try either spawning a bunch of enemies or a dragon with a lot of health so the fight goes on long enough to give him time to use it, fights in the vanilla game are pretty small so if it's just like 3 bandits chances are he'll just oneshot them and fly away.

I have a slight problem with the mod, he does the drain vitality just fine but he doesnt use the sould cairn shout anymore at all, is this a glitch?

I wish Durnehviir is free from the soul cairn because I feel bad for Durnehviir, he is trapped in soul cairn . is there a mod that has a quest for him so he came live in tamrial forever.
