It might still function but you are better off not trying it, as I cant test to make sure its working as intended. I havent got the time anymore to update my mods unfortunately, but they are up for grabs if anyone wants to continue them and make their own versions, anyone is allowed to do anything with any part of any mod I made.

Tired of Chaos being a punching bag? Tired of the Champions of Chaos coming to the world as fresh rank 1 units and lords spawning at level 9 when most of the world is running around with rank 9 units and level 40 lords? Do you find it strange that the hosts of Chaos are supposed to mostly be the best and strongest of the tribes of the north yet they show up as rank 1? Then this might help.

This is a simple script mod that makes every chaos character that is created through any mechanics (except rebels) such as the chaos invasion, DF's Chaos Gates or any other mod, to spawn with rank 9 units, and to give their leader a healthy bonus to his levels, so he can more easily face threats. It will only give such units to AI factions and not when the player himself is playing Chaos.

This is necessary in my opinion the higher the difficulty the player is playing at, given that every other AI army on very hard/legendary gets an incredible ammount of experience per turn to their units, meaning most AIs are running around with gold chevron units while Chaos spawns with low level lords and rank 1 units, which makes it so the AI can beat them incredibly easily.

COMPATIBILITY
This will work with any and every mod that edits the chaos invasions and its a standalone script, so its highly compatible with most mods and overhauls. It can certainly be added to any 3x or 10x or whatever x chaos invasion mods and so on for example. Of course, it will also work well on its own with the vanilla chaos invasion.
Savegame compatible, though it will only rank up newly created characters.

Fair usage
Since I got asked a couple of times, If you are making or have made a chaos invasion mod and want to include this script you are free to use it, no need to credit or anything. Just remember to rename the listeners so they dont conflict with each other in case people have both this and your mod on.

The mod still works, but the script is rather badly made. So I went and made my own version here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2520503452

Basically, the old version runs a handful of string checks on every single character, for every faction's turn. I made it so that the checks only happen at the end of the player's turn, and only runs on the chaos factions' characters. As well as more general optimisations.

Good stuff, did this with x3 chaos invasion and x5 chaos invasion and they kicked some serious booty.

I'll clarify; this mod still works, and will continue to work in the future, as it's done through a simple Lua script.

I looked at the mod file, it's a code mod, I am now pretty sure it should still work, and also, that it works for the puppets of chaos as asked by me below. Haven't the opportunity to actually play the game and test it yet tough.
