The Botanist is a relaxing but repetitive plant growing simulator with a total of 5 Steam achievements. All achievements are tied to your in-game rank, which is associated to randomly generated tasks that you have to complete.
This guide will provide you with hints on how to efficiently play the game. However, this is not a complete step-by-step walkthrough due to the randomness factor.

Controls:
Look around: Mouse
Interact: LMB
Cancel: RMB

There's no movement keys as you can't physically move from your starting position; the whole gameplay is based on the point and click mechanism.



Relevant Information:
Achievements unlock on close.
Game saves at the start of each day; be careful when manipulating the pot shelf as the game tends    to crash on the transition between there and the desk (that's what happened to me at least).

    •   Check post under the door on the right.
    •   Use Computer and check Mail.
    •   Read 11 April - Seed Club Application.
    •   Click on Complete Application.
    •   Fill all fields and click on Join.
    •   Check the new mail.
    •   Click on the TV and then on the remote to end the day.

    •   Open Starter Kit in front of the right door.
    •   Click on the right shelf and pick up the pot.
    •   Pick up a Seed Packet from the cabinet.
    •   Use the seed on the pot.
    •   Check your mail to find out that you've been accepted.
    •   Click on view and then on Take Photo to the plant on desk.
    •   Click on send.
    •   Store your plant on the biggest shelf and then end the day by clicking on TV and remote.

    •   Check your computer and read the mail to receive a reputation point.
    •   Close mail window and click on Requests.
    •   The game turns into a extremely repetitive task from now on.

At this point you will have unlocked:



Here's what you're going to do:

    •   Order any five packages of these seeds:

                •   Carrot
                •   Dragon Fruit
                •   Lime
                •   Orange
                •   Pepper
                •   Pineapple
                •   Pomelo
                •   Fruity
                •   Maracuja
                •   Mango

    •   End the day by clicking on the TV and then on the remote.
    •   Pick up the parcel from the door on the right (it contains all the seeds you ordered earlier).
    •   Find an easy request for your rank using Requests on computer.
    •   Check the requirements and compare them with this table:

    •   If it's doable, make the plant. If it's hard or just annoying, ignore it and find a new one.

    •   Put the plant on the desk (if it's not there) and then take a photo by clicking on Take Photo.
    •   Click on send.
    •   Wait a day and you'll receive a mail from the customer.
    •   If they're satisfied with it, you'll receive a reputation point or more.
    •   Rinse and repeat.

                                 Don't forget to get newer seeds frequently in order to continue making new plants.                               

And that's basically the game.
You seek requests, you complete requests, you earn reputation, you rank up. Your main objective is to reach rank 5, which requires 100 total reputation points. The higher rank the request is, the more reputation you'll gain.

There's also an achievement for each reputation level (up to 5):



Few Notes:

Avoid doing requests of a higher rank than yours. You'll most likely fail all those.
Storing plants is pretty much useless.
I highly recommend making a specific plant just after receiving a request.
Abuse of the day skipping mechanic to get new requests. Apparently there is no penalty for this.
Focus on the easiest requests; avoid all hard ones.
Old requests will be automatically removed from the list, so don't wait too long.
