Wing Front Section (Small) Correct Placement

Placement of wing blocks DO matter a lot. Since "Wing Front Section (Small)" is Y-plane symmetric, it is not possible to know which side is top or bottom without testing it in flight. So I tested it and put it in workshop.

Top side is yellow.
Bottom side is red.

After seeing Bigman Boi's video about it, I am now adding a table that shows how much lift each wing component / control surface provides. Information is taken from xml definition files in the Stormworks installation folder. I use this table since I began making airplanes in Stormworks, so in my opinion it's vital to know wing which component is best to use for your vehicles.



As you can see Wing Front Section (Small) doesn't provide much lift for its area compared to other wing components. Also take notice that sub-grid wings, xml edited wings and wings that are not connected to the body by continuous blocks will provide a lot less lift.

Another useful info about lift in Stormworks is that wings stop providing any lift below 85-90 km/h (which is one of the two reasons why gliding is poor, the other one being the air drag that reduces airspeed pretty much below that lift-speed limit without any thrust).
