GCR Locomotives

This mod is adapted from the 'GCR Class 8' mod from TpF1 days. I decided it would be preferable to have all GCR locomotives in one pack that gets updated over time, like the LNWR 'Phase' packs. The GCR engines for the most part were standardised and used similar bits, so it also makes sense from a resource standpoint.

Please take into consideration that this started as a TpF1 mod, and thus you may spot some issues with textures and paint gloss. Other than starting and remodelling from scratch, this is the best I can do. I hope you enjoy!

The GCR came into existence in the late 1890s out of other companies offering an alternate route from Manchester to London via Leicester and the centre of England. The Great Central is often regarded as 'the other mainline' these days. Kinda how Olympic is the less famous Titanic or how Wimpy burger exists.

Sadly, in the 1960s, the Great Central route was ripped up in the Beaching Act, and many of the iconic GCR locomotives were lost to time. A few remain, but most are gone (like Wimpy).

I hope this mod allows you to run some otherwise forgotten locomotives owned by the LNER and BR (and GCR).
