STATUS VP55 R

Description

VP55 is a fully automatic, highly efficient off roader, and carries enough fuel to complete the Sawyer Isles Endurance Race, and turn around and drive back. Twice. It also features copious amounts of battery life and robust power generation capabilities. Navigating is easy with the large GPS display featuring Buunuu's beautiful 3D map, and a hud with digital speedometer and sengir_vampire's compass band. VP55 R offers seating for seven in a relatively compact, air-liftable package.

Or anyone you choose to send its camera feed to. The camera is controlled from the display in the rear seat, and the camera boom and antennas are deployed and stowed automatically at the flick of a switch. Communications are handled by Sheepdog's SD100 VHF radio, allowing two-way voice and two-way video communication, making the VP55 R a versatile and valuable communications node.

The VP55 platform is equipped with a high mounted snorkel intake and an automatic water pump, giving it the ability to drive underwater for roughly a minute on its own air supply, making crossing shallow water and rivers a trivial task.

I wanted to try out a lot of new things with this one, and I hope you'll like how it turned out. Thanks as always to mistercynical for his great ideas and feedback, and to Toddy, MrNJersey, and all the people who made the things I blew up in the video. A big thanks as well to sengir_vampire for making a critical change to the compass band script. This is my first time really implementing a lot of things like video and radio communication, building a true off-roader, and hopefully the experience will translate well into future builds. If you've got any ideas on how to do things better, please give me your suggestions!

3/3/2020: Fixed video transmission issue.

I think I should build some regular ships before I go building space ships. Maybe one day.

Mr. Carn1vore sir, I took a look at your non-stormworks creation and would like to know if at some point you will build those in stormworks

Absolutely. I'm really only referring to posting things on the workshop. Modify my vehicles however you like, share pictures, videos, share them with your friends, use them wherever, just don't upload copies or modified versions to the workshop.
