World of Warships models
40 items
Description
A prop of the Kongo-class Battlecruisers, as they used to appear in World of Warships.

This was surprisingly easy to do, not many textures here.

THIS IS NOT A DRIVEABLE VEHICLE, AND I WILL NEVER MAKE IT ONE, SO PLEASE, DO NOT BOTHER ASKING.

Fully rigged, use a model tool to tamper with moving parts.

WARNING: You will need the easy bonemerge tool to put the model together. Merge the hull into the guns.

Includes:
HIJMS Kongo (1913) (intact, broken, fragments, skybox version)

Historical notes:

Lead ship of her class of battlecruisers of the Japanese Navy. Kongo herself was built in England while her sisters were built in Japan. At the time of her launching she was the most powerful battlecruiser in the world, so much so that she wound up influencing the United States into creating the Lexington-class battlecruisers in response. Kongo and her sisters were later rebuilt as fast battleships in the 1930s.

Armament as of 1913 consisted of 4x2 356mm/45 Type 41 guns, 16x1 152.4mm/50 Type 41 guns, 4x2 76.2mm/40 Type 41 guns, 4x1 76.2mm Type 3 AA guns and 8x1 533mm torpedo tubes.

The Kongo class class consisted of 4 ships, Kongo ("Indestructible", named after Mount Kongo), Kirishima ("Fog Island", named after Mount Kirishima), Haruna (named after Mount Haruna) and Hiei (named after Mount Hiei).

Old description:

Battleship Kongo (1913)

The last Japanese capital ship built outside Japan, the Kongo was the lead ship of it's class of battlecruisers, with her sisters built in Japan. When built, she was one of the most powerful warships in the world. She patrolled the chinese coast during WW1 and was rebuilt multiple times in the interwar period, first into a battleship and then into a fast battleship. During WW2 she participated in the battles of Midway, Guadalcanal, Philippine Sea and Leyte Gulf and met her end on the Formosa Strait, being hit with torpedoes from USS Sealion.

No. When I do the 1942 Hiei model, it's gonna be a separate model and maybe separate release.

It just would not work with the engine limitations and even without them it's extremely impractical to make it a bodygroup.
TTan 26 Mar, 2021 @ 6:19am
can we have a 1944 bodygroup?

UPDATE:

Improved smoothing and added buoys bodygroups.

I did not say it was not real, I said the one in WoWS is a fictional reconstruction. WoWS does not have a model of the Iron Duke as it existed in reality.
Derp's Warship 30 Jul, 2020 @ 11:23am
the iron duke was not and is a real ship
