Description
[Vanilla|Survival Ready|Subgrids]

Probably the simplest clang drive in existence with just 2 blocks and no subgrids. It's printable, tileable and needs no scripts. It works everywhere and needs only 2kW for the piston.

It's works in the same way as the PDD-3 Piston Door Drive, but is a little more janky, i.e. it adds a little bit more random torque, but it's still totally manageable. Just like a gravity drive, it generates torque when not properly placed in line of the center of mass. The blocks are in a weird quasi-connected state, as soon as you delete any block on your ship they will separate again, therefore make sure both blocks are connected to your ship.

This drive works without a script, but you can use the Clang Drive Manager Script for 6-axis wasd control and inertial dampening.
When you are using the script, it will detect the drives automatically and add the piston heads itself, so you have to do nothing else but placing it down.

Example ship here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2001921870

Some stats:
-Blocks: 2
-PCU: 215
-Mass: 8.4 t
-Force: ~10 MN (about 1.5 large hydro thrusters)

How to use:
-Place it on your ship, or project and weld it (in line of the center of mass!!)
-Make sure the hangar doors and pistons are both connected to your ship
-Add piston heads from the terminal
-(Optional, only Survival) change maximpulseaxis on piston to 5MN
-To toggle it on and off simply reverse the piston group called Pistons (clang drive)
-(Optional) Install the Clang Drive Manager Script for 6-axis wasd control and inertial dampening

Attached the blocks with modded blocks and reloaded the world without mods

only one question; how did ya make the blueprint

Just Install the Clang Drive Manager script in any prog block on your ship and attach these on your ship like in the third pic. The script does the rest for you.

I think I may need a video on setting it up because I have a hard time understanding what is written

There are no small ship hangar doors either (i think), so unfortunately not, unless you use supergridding, but that's kinda silly. I'm currently updating my Clang Drive Manager Script and building a small ship mass shift drive though. If you're super impatient, it actually kinda works already. Just put a medium cargo on you ship, two adv. rotors stacked on top and another medium cargo on top. Then just put like 20 tons of iron ingots into one of the cargos and install the script.

is it possible to convert this into small grid? i would have modified the pdd 3 though there are no small ship doors.

I love your stuff... really pushing what SE can do.
