Description
First beatmap but i think i did well...

Caution: -Due to some problems with the editor there may be some bugs atm so sorry for that

I really worked hard on this to recreate the feeling of shelter as accurate as possible. I also put a lot of love in the world around the track but i hope i didn't overdo it.

If you have any issues or improvement ideas let me know down in the comments.

Love you all <3

you have to click on the individual model, attach it to the track with (T), and then use (+) or (-) to repeat them
you can also use (Shift) + (+) or (Shift) + (-) to change the spacing of the repeat once you have the above set up

I was playing with this today and I notice that you have a lot of the on-track models repeated manually. You can press + and - to change the repeat count so you don't have to place them manually. I'm not sure if you weren't aware of that.

@special player ... i know but i inserted the pause after i mapped the song and for some reason it completely didn't work out and i couldn't insert any notes... if you are able to fix it ill change it tho
PS. were you about to live stream? i was waiting on it but if you work on the editor and livestrem it i would gladly join and show you the problem

@largah ... i know i had it on double speed before but it was way to fast so i turned it to 1.5 ... i wanted the song to get more hyped during the end but as i said i took way too much effort in this map and my others probably wont be as clutched and therefore not as messy ... but thanks for the advice with the not over 100% speed ... maybe that will fix the messy part at the end...

also im back home now and due to corona i probably have a lot free time now lol ... ill probably start mapping more songs soon <3

IIRC Sequence Storm expresses scroll speed as a percentage of base speed, so I would avoid setting the speed above 100% except for specific effects where you make easier, more predictable patterns for the player to perform to compensate. It's often way easier to make a level that starts fast, gets slow in the middle, and gets fast again at the end.

Again though, this is also personal opinions and every designer has their own style. If you develop your own style over time, players will know what to expect from the level designer's name alone.

Personally I found the speedup near the end of the song to be a huge difficulty spike. IME players set their speed to as fast as they can handle at the beginning of the song, so a song that starts slow and speeds up later is difficult to do well - especially when you introduce a unique pattern that the player hasn't seen earlier in the level (this is from playing on Hard difficulty). My personal rule of thumb is that if you only change the speed for a few seconds, there's a better way to create the effect you want.

DDR in particular has boss songs that speed up to double or even quadruple the starting speed in certain sections, but in that game the scroll speed is a function of BPM and the song's BPM range is listed in the song select menu, so players are given advance warning and can set their speed to a comfortable range. It also helps that players are generally more tolerant of gimmicks in the context of a boss song.

I saw you used a very low scroll rate for a pause effect, but it is a bit jerky when you do that. You can insert real pauses with ctrl-P.

I know... the hard difficulty is in my opinion a bit underrated but if you got any improvement ideas let me know ^-^

Yeah i was just hoping nobody finished it before me. But thanks dude, especially to hear that from you ... im still trying to get myself a score on Don't Die, its incredible how you got 90% but i guess its always easier when you made the Map yourself.
