Although this blueprint has DLC blocks you DO NOT NEED THE DLC.

This is a blueprint of NASA's Skylab space station, the first American space station which was launched on May 14th 1973 atop of the last Saturn V to ever launch into space.

Skylab began life as a third stage for the Saturn V (second stage if you include the Saturn 1B(which I have also made)) however it got converted into a space station and was packed with scientific equipment, storage and living quarters for the crew. The Skylab was placed on top of the last Saturn V to launch and was put into orbit.

Skylab had also come equipped with a docking adaptor where two Apollo spacecraft could dock either during normal operations or in an emergency. Skylab also came with a Solar Observatory which was on the Apollo Telescope Mount and had four solar panels attached to it. In total the space station launched with six solar panels, however one got destroyed when the micrometeoroid shield broke off and hit one of the main solar panels as well as damaging the other. The crew were able to build a new shield and fixed the remaining solar array.

The version of Skylab you can see here still has all of its main solar arrays.

The three crews about Skylab ran many experiments as well as testing new tech such as the first shower in space. Unlike the Salyut, Mir, ISS or Tiangong 1 and 2 Skylab had a massive amount of open space which enabled the crews to run around it. At the time Skylab set a new record for the longest manned mission in space of 84 days.

There were plans to rescue the space station from rentry by using the upcoming space shuttle, however the shuttle was still years away from being flight ready. As a result Skylab re-entered the atmosphere on July 11th 1979. To date this is the only American only space station to have flown in space.

A second flight ready Skylab (Skylab B) was ready on Earth, however it was never put up into orbit due to budget costs and is now on display today.

I have included an Apollo Spacecraft docked at one of the docking ports. The interior of Skylab is not 100% accurate but I think it is good enough.

Enjoy!
