RV Corystes. Multi Purpose Research Ship.

RV Corystes was built in 1988 for The Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science iin 1988 and operated from Lowesoft in Suffolk. In 2006 she was transferred to the Agri-Food & Biosciences Institute, her current owner.
Corystes is an ocean going research vessel focusing mainly on carrying out fisheries, oceanographic and enviromental monitoring and research.

The ship has an 18000l diesel tank which, cruising at 10knots, gives the boat a range of at least 60km. On the main deck there are two a frame cranes, 1 large crane at the back, and a smaller crane on the starboard side. There is a camera operable from a control area in the lab space beside the main deck.
