# DESCRIPTION
This mod introduced TacVis(tm): the first, augmented reality tactical interface. Installed in specific helmets and headgear, TacVis is capable of improving tactical awareness in both close-quarters combat and reconnaisance operations.

"What do I have to do to use TacVis?"

Nothing. It will work automatically. *IF* your helmet or goggles are compatible with TacVis, an action will be available. Once used, the UI will let you choose between the various options.

If the TacVis action does not appear, open the inventory and close it just to make sure a second time. Next, if you are still having problems.. are you sure your headgear or goggles are compatible with TacVis? The compatible ones that work out-of-the-box are the following:

> Defender Helmet
> Assassin Helmet
> Avenger Helmet
> Special Purpose Helmet
> Stealth Combat Helmet

Which, in terms of classes, translates to:
"H_HelmetLeaderO_ocamo", "H_HelmetLeaderO_oucamo", "H_HelmetSpecO_ocamo", "H_HelmetSpecO_blk", "H_HelmetSpecO_ghex_F", "H_HelmetLeaderO_ghex_F", "H_HelmetAggressor_F", "H_HelmetAggressor_cover_F","H_HelmetO_ViperSP_hex_F","H_HelmetO_ViperSP_ghex_F","H_HelmetB_TI_tna_F"

You can add your own classes of headgear or goggles to make them compatible with TacVis. Instructions on how to do so are reported somewhere below, in the "Adding headgear or goggles to the compatible list" paragraph.

If you are asking yourself: "Why do both 'blue' and 'red' factions have TacVis?" The answer is simple: the company who developed TacVis avidly sold the patent to both BLUFOR and REDFOR sides, because why restrict this when there is money to be made?

Main features:

- Different voice sets
Two male and two female are available, including an additional, special "Male Zero" version.

- Two display modes
Turn text online on or off to make text more readable and compensate for lightning and environment.

- CQC Mode
Allows you to identify biological and mechanical entities in your field of view, within roughly 50 meters, for 30 seconds. It reports distance, grid position, hostility, injuries and more.

- RECON Mode
Allows a deeper scan for up to roughly 500 meters in a tight cone at the center of the field of view. It is unable to detect anything within 50 meters and is instantly cancelled on movement, thus requiring the operator to stand still. As for the CQC mode it reports distance, grid position, hostility, injuries and more.

- Special reports
Threats, High-Value Targets and Mission Objectives are announced specifically. Mission makers can add the words:
threat = for High Threats hvt = for high-value targets obj = for objectives

to any unit name or description, using the commands "setName" or "setDescription".

Example: in the init field of a unit, write:
this setName ["John Doe | HVT: Escort", "John", "Doe"]
and it will report that unit as an HVT along with a text saying: "John Doe | HVT: Escort".

Example2: in the init field of an enemy sniper, write:
this setName ["THREAT LEVEL: HIGH", "John", "Doe"]
to display "THREAT LEVEL: HIGH" and report that sighting as a high threat.

Example3: in the init field of an enemy officer, write:
this setName ["Mission Objective: Assassinate", "John", "Doe"]
to display "Mission Objective: Assassinate" and report it as a mission objective

- Adding headgear or goggles to the compatible list:

You can create a mission with:
- condition:
time > 1
- on activation:
VTO_tacvis_devices pushBackUnique ["CLASSNAMEOFYOURHEADGEAR"]

This will add the "CLASSNAMEOFYOURHEADGEAR" to the list of compatible TacVis devices.

If you want to clear out the whole list before adding your own, you can use:
"VTO_tacvis_devices = []"

- List of devices currently compatible with TacVis:

Note: only headgear and goggles can be added to the list of devices. No other type of equipment is compatible.

# INSTALLATION
> From Steam Workshop
Subscribing to the mod will let Steam do everything automatically for you via the Steam Workshop updater and installer.

> Manually
Unpack the folder '@VTO_tacvis' from the downloaded archive into your Arma 3 installation. Add the mod to your mod parameters sequence using your favorite launcher or by adding '-mod=@VTO_tacvis'. 'bikey' files are provided, you can copy the file from the @VTO_tacvis\Keys folder to the Keys folder in your Arma 3 root. Server owners and admins can use the provided bikey to ensure authenticity checks in your server(s) if necessary.

This mod does not require any other mods to operate.

I spotted a bug. When you have an item like goggles, CQC mode shuts down almost immediately upon activation. It works how it is suppose to with helmets

Still waiting on that CBA compat. Love the mod, but it's a hassle to have to add to mission configs when servers can have anywhere between 10-50 missions they'd want to use this on. It'd also allow for use on missions that wouldn't natively be able to support it, like Liberation and DUWS. Great mod though!

Hi, the Stealth Combat Helmet (Arid) version is not included in the default list while Jungle version is? Though instructions for adding device is clear, still sucks to add them every time...agree with below to add by CBA!
