Description
Stellaris fleet combat has always been lack luster in my opinion. So, I decided to spice it up.


New tactical selection provides more depth to fleet combat while not being too intrusive and fitting nicely into vanilla. Not only can you select from 3 tactics at the start, some 12 are available for researching or discovery.

Interesting new tactical options can be discovered in a variety of ways, from technology to leviathans!

Special tactics for ascended empires, 3 for synthetic, 2 for psionic, and 1 for genetic!

All crisis factions have their own unique tactics which players will need to learn to counter! (Great Khan included)

Tactics can make or break battles, countering your opponent can turn the tides of war faster than ever before!
Don't get too comfortable with your huge fleets, a calculating opponent may still be tactically superior...

Just as in real life, it is difficult to see what tactics an enemy is using against you. As a result, you must balance risk and reward to ensure victory in the ever changing galactic scene.

This mod has full AI support. AI will choose tactics based on what is available at the time.
AI is bound by the same restrictions as the player, with the exception of fallen empires, crises, and other special factions, who get their own unique tactics.

Tactics

Balanced Operations-
Balanced Tactic. Countered by most aggressive and counters defensive.
Increased ship weapons damage and hull points slightly

Aggressive assault-
Offensive tactic. Countered by defensive and counters balanced.
Increases ship weapons damage, evasion, and accuracy.

Cautious Defense-
Defensive Tactic. Countered by balanced and counters aggressive.
increases hull, evasion, and weapon range.

Spearhead- Unlocked by fleet doctrine tech
Aggressive tactic. Countered by defensive and counters balanced.
Increases fire rate, weapons damage, and evasion

Killbox - Unlocked by fleet doctrine tech
Defensive tactic Countered by balanced and counters aggressive.
Increases hull and weapons range considerably

Erudite Operations- Obtained through genetic ascension
Balanced Tactic. Countered by most aggressive and counters defensive.
Increases accuracy, fire rate, hull, and weapons damage slightly

Synthetic Defense Matrix-Obtained through synthetic ascension or available to machine intelligence through machine age.
Defensive tactic. Countered by balanced and counters aggressive.
Increases hull, armor, and shields

Synthetic Operations- Obtained through synthetic ascension

Increases fire rate, weapon damage, hull and shields slightly

Synthetic Offensive- Obtained through synthetic ascension
Aggressive Tactic. Countered by defensive and counters balanced.
Increases fire rate, weapon damage, hull, shield, and evasion.

Psionic Blitz- Obtained through psionic ascension
Aggressive tactic. Countered by defensive and counters balanced.
Increases fire rate, weapon damage, evasion, and accuracy.

Psionic Reinforcement- Obtained through psionic ascension
Defensive tactic. Countered by balanced and counters aggressive.
Increases hull, weapon range, and evasion considerably.

Enigmatic Operations - Used by fallen empires and contingiency. Unlocked by enigmatic decoder
Balanced tactic. Countered by most aggressive and counters defensive.
Increases weapon damage, fire rate, hull, and weapon range considerably.

Marauders - Used by marauders
Aggressive Tactic. Countered by defensive and counters balanced.
Increases weapon damage and fire rate by a large degree

Organized Marauders - Used by the Great Khan
Aggressive Tactic. Countered by defensive and counters balanced.
Increases weapon damage, fire rate, and hull hugely.

Unceasing Attack - Used by Genocidal Empires and the Scourge
Aggressive Tactic. Countered by defensive and counters balanced.
Increases weapon damage greatly, but decreases hull slightly.

Dimensional Stutter
Aggressive tactic. Is countered by balanced and counters defensive.
Increases Weapon damage, fire rate, and hull considerably, and increases evasion immensely.

Tactics, when countered will produce negatives more or less equivalent to the buffs they give. When countering the enemy's tactic, a tactic gives more bonuses. Some tactics have more or less risk, and will receive abnormally high negatives when countered. Most tactics fall into aggressive, balanced, or defensive categories. But some are countered by different tactics.

Known bugs-
By default, hitting the tactics button will prompt a selection event for every fleet. This is due to a technical limitation which prohibits added GUI buttons firing anything other than country events. This can be mitigated by going into edicts and firing the mod options, selecting the bottom option will cause the event to only fire for fleets on aggressive stance.

WARNING!
If you want to add your own tactics to this mod, the effort required in adding tactics is exponentially more each time, so maybe don't be too ambitious. You are welcome to make compatibility patches or add-ons if you please, but do your best to honor my work.

This mod would be so much better if you could tell to which fleet you are applying a tactic, and to be able to switch tactics in the middle of a fight (even with a delay before effective). The battle window doesn't have a tactics button, and even if it did, you wouldn't know which fleet you were applying that tactic to because they aren't referred to by name in the event pop up that happens for *all* fleets.

Suggestions:
* Make it pop up only for the selected fleet(s).
* Reference the fleets by name in the event pop up. This way the button in edicts is useful for switching some fleets, but not others.
* Add a tactics button to the battle window with a 10 day delay before effective. Make it so the AI can switch in battle with a similar delay.

Any idea how one would make this compatible with UI Overhaul? The space for the button is still there after all.
