Description
United Federation Type Mod

Now with Chinese Localisation!
This mod for stellaris: Federation, adds a new and powerful type of federation: the "United Federation"!

Now actively recruiting modders to help me with this mod!

I need to recruit some modders to help me with a concept of a subsriber, who had written an entire concept (which is really really good) for this mod. Concept is in the "Feedback and Suggestions" Discussion.

Summary

The "United Federation" is not unlocked at the start of the game, and neither is it a federation type, that you have as your first federation type, that you have unlocked.

Basicly, you must activate a ascension perk to unlock the federation type.
If that is done, you must have a federation other than a united federation with centralization law being 'High' or 'Very High'.
If you met these criterias, you can change the federation type into a united federation (other members will tend to vote for it. Even better, if you have 'very high' centralization, than just 'high'.

Have you activated the united federation, than you will have instantly have access to the passive effects of the 'Trade Union' (powerful trade policy for all members), of the 'Research Cooperative' (automatic research agreements in your federation) and, of course, the passive perk of the 'Galactic Union' (Members with opposing Ethics have a 50% reduced impact on the federation cohesion).

At a certain point, you can also prevent other members from leaving, and you can enact federation reforms. (Regards to EU IV, at this point). These Reforms will slowly transform this united federation into one big empire. (And at this point, regards to Star Wars).

After that, you can gain positive (and negative!) effects for your federation, the more you advance in the 'United Federation' try it out for yourself! ;)

And at last, you have access to certain laws, that you don't have in vanilla (very high / complete fleet contribution and war economy (WIP!))

Compatibility

This mod might cause some problems, if you have a mod activated, that is messing with the federation laws. Otherwise, you should be fine (feel free to contact me, though, if you encounter any incompabilities or bugs).

  • Other Federation Members can now leave the federation, until Level 3 is reached or a certain Law has been passed, which prevents members from leaving.
  • Added the first two Federation Reform Laws (each costs 300 Influence and 100 Cohesion for the leader to enact) Each grants bonuses for the federation members and the president.
  • Fixed the 'Medium Fleet contribution' Bug, where the naval capacity was not contributed.
  • The Level 5 Perk, which grants the Federation President a CB against all other empires, who are not part of the federation was moved to Level 4.
  • Added Herobrine

  • Add in a possibility to "become the senate" (e.g. vassalize all other member homeworlds and annex all other systems as the federation leader, if you have reached a certain centralization level)
  • Add in 'HRE Laws' (Call for Reichsreform to Renovatio Imperii)
  • Add the 'Election' Succesion type
  • Add more Tasks and maybe more research to improve control of the federation
  • Add more Events

Right now, i don't have the time to update this. But if you would like to, you can use my code (reference me in the description of your mod) to bring a new, updated version. But maybe making a new mod is better, when Overlord is released.

Very interesting!
I'd really like a version where someone else (maybe a new country) get all the land, and we all get some share of the ressources (members have some issues, on minerals for example with only a few planets and no systems).
I'd begin a game as a hegemony on a big map, and my strat was to steal the capital of neighboors by war to get more powerful, then I easily win them as vassals. I quickly got a very big fleet size with very few plot of land, surrounded by big vassals... but soon I lost a lot of time managing all that, and not enough playing the same gameplay as the beginning... I liked that more.
I hoped I could do that again with your mod.
The code for that part is way easier than I thought, I may be able to adapt it to my playstyle.
I'm looking forward what you'll do next.

Awesome mod, but one thing I hate is federation laws not staying the same (centralization ect.) when switching, im no modder but maybe you could use an event of some kind to change the laws to keep them to same?
