Glossary

• Transferring/backing up a save slot

You may want to back up your saves if you're moving computers or if you ran out of save slots. This can be easily done by following the steps below.

Your save files are located in %localappdata%/hyper_hardcore/. You can reach this directory by pressing win+r, pasting %localappdata%/hyper_hardcore/ in and hitting enter.

This directory should look somewhat like this:*

hyper_hardcore/ | employee_{your_steamid64}.hsh | employee_{your_steamid64}.sav | employee_{your_steamid64}_{slot_number}.hsh | employee_{your_steamid64}_{slot_number}.sav | . | . | . | settings.dat | \---cache

The save slot the files belong to will be indicated by the number after your steam ID.
Important: save slot 0 files will have no number.

Once you find the files of the slot you'd like to back up, you can simply move them to wherever you need. To use them in-game, paste them into the same directory and indicate the save slot you want them to belong to at the end of the file name (or no number for slot 0).

Note: your save files will only work with your account. You can't share them with other users, as they simply won't work.

*If you don't see the file extensions (.hsh or .sav) you need to enable them. Here's a guide on how to do that.[support.winzip.com]

• Resetting your story progress

To start the story over, you can utilize the built-in save slots. From the main menu, head into Preferences, and scroll all the way down to the Save Slot option. By using the arrow keys you may select the save slot you wish to play on. After you've chosen a save slot, exit the main menu. The game will tell you to restart the game for the change to take effect. After restarting, the game should load the progress from the slot you chose (or start a new save file, if you've not played on that slot before).

• Item drops

The game drops various items based on your level access, completion of missions, and playtime.
Oh also this is slightly outdated for the time due to the 1.2 update

• Playing the non-canon story

Some achievements are exclusive to the non-canon ending. To play the alternative story-line and achieve the non-canon ending you must message John Furukawa after receiving this message from Rebecca Silva:

After that continue playing and respond to new messages in the chat.

• Encrypted datablock drops

Encrypted Datablocks are essentially lootboxes. You buy the corresponding Decryption Device (a key; each type of Encrypted Datablocks has its own key) for your Encrypted Datablock either on the Black Market (unlocked after running the injector in-game) or in the game item store.

At the very beginning of the game enter your chat with John Furukawa. Send him 2 messages, and after his response start typing the next message in, but instead of sending it delete it completely. Then type a new message in and send it to John.

After John Furukawa says "Don't even try to message me again!" keep spamming him messages until he "bans" you.

Professional Thief

Stole everything

In John Furukawa's profile (after using "injector final 1 real final 2 v3.exe") go to his inventory and steal everything (don't forget to steal an item that's behind the timer when going to the bottom of the inventory)

Double Agent

After John Furukawa gives you the patched injector use the rebel injector instead.

Put the Eye Care Filter all the way to 100

HIT THE CORNER!!!

Wait on the main menu for 30 minutes without pressing anything on your keyboard. A Zeokku version of the DVD Video logo screensaver will fade in and you need to wait for it to hit a corner.

What does this code mean?

Play the 4th game-mode (???????) and get the fail message "NOW LISTEN TO THE RADIO". Once you get it do not press anything and wait. After around 20 seconds a beeping noise will start after which a voice will start reading binary data. The binary string is:

which translates into

Preferences 742634

Now go into preferences and simply type the number 742634 in using the number keys in the number row.

Who made that?

After you type the code in from the previous achievement (What does this code mean?) you can unlock a secret option in preferences by going down to the "Auto Accept New Missions" and down once more to see an option called "??????????" appear under your cursor. This challenge consists of guessing a 1024 keypress long sequence of right-arrow and left-arrow keystrokes that is randomly generated every time the main menu is opened. To get the achievement you have to enter the sequence in the right order without failing.
