@Chloe: That's… odd. AFAICT, there shouldn't be any way for this addon to influence the apprentice mage's presence, and he's always appeared for me. There is a known game bug [forums.te4.org] in this general area, though, which may be what you're running into.

Tried this in my game, and it seemed to stop the npc for secret city from showing up (?)

@BINARYGOD: If you know where the savefiles are (I don't know where Steam puts them), you can edit the desc.lua file associated with your character. There should be a line listing the addons used for the character that you can edit to add the identifying tag for this addon, which is 'opt_zone'. (Disclaimer: Some addons will break spectacularly if you try to add them ex post like this, though this one should work.)

installed the mod after staring a new game... how do I get this mod to show up without having to start over again? I beleive I have to mod a save file or something, which is fine.

I like this mod, because I hate the alternate Maze's boss. I feel like it's much more dangerous than the regular one.

Thank you. There are some levels I can only seem to roll alternates on. Would be nice to switch it up every now and again. Awesome!

Well, yes, but each zone has a particular layout style; Ruins of Kor'Pul is all rooms connected by corridors, for instance, while Scintillating Caves is all cavernous areas. Some zones, however, can randomly appear in an alternate form, with a different layout style or different monster mix or different guardian monster (the picture above, for instance, shows Trollmire's alternate forms). And some of these alternate zone forms are notoriously annoying (alt Sandworm Lair is particularly known for this) or notoriously deadly (alt Maze is particularly known for this). Hence this addon, which allows you to control whether the alternate forms of these zones can appear.

Alternate zone? Could you go into detail a bit more, lol? Isn't the entire game full of randomized dungeons?
