Florida

Description
Welcome to the Sunshine State!

Take on the bustling Florida peninsula which is full of freight and passenger traffic between CSX and Amtrak. Recreate short line passenger rail services like Sunrail in the Miami region. Import non native goods from the north and export Florida's rich agriculture and lumber reserves. Connect major rail hubs like Waycross, GA to feed the whole peninsula.

Features
  1. Gulf Oil Network - I have placed water based "drilling platforms" in the gulf, transport the oil to the booming refinery region around Mobile, Alabama and ship the final product down the line! To ship from platforms simply place a dock on the land ledge at the entry of each well.
  2. Road Network - All major real highways were placed in their approximate real locations
  3. Region specific goods - Florida is known for its Phosphate, Limestone, Lumber, and Agriculture (Sugarcane and Orange) markets.
  4. Real World Placement - Hand placed industries in their real world locations using their real world counter part's name

Note From the Author
This map pays tribute to Danny Harmon's Distant Signal Youtube channel which covers the Florida rail scene in great detail. Enjoy the multiple avenues of game play of this map as you connect the numerous supply chains that exist. Track planning and design can become very important in early game play to allow for line expansion as you gain more cash. The real world region also has a limited amount of space for rail which is also a challenge in this map. Enjoy!

Detail I think there may be some terrain mods out there or you can edit the map

I placed a freight depot near the edge of the Waycross Road. How do I connect with the off map areas?

Nice Map with one exception, being a longtime Floridian those rectangular ponds to the west of Miami don't lend themselves to a realistic connection to I-75 (Alligator Alley) coming from Naples to the west. I can get rid of the quarry, but don't know a way to get rid of the ponds?

Love this map, only wish you could start it in 1850. Would be fun to grow it from scratch

As a guy based in the UK, always enjoy recreating the US railroads. Shame there isn't more Tri-Rail stuff out there to help enjoy this map, but really enjoying it. Thanks buddy.

I am having lots of fun plying this map. I live in JAX. Plenty of room to place things.

@Captainhawes
I know that, but for realism it can be used.
