AT4 - Amphibious Scout Tank (now with real cannon)

Description
The AT4 “Ratatoskr” is an amphibious and fast lights scouting tank. It can reach a top speed of 110 kph and is easy to drive with either traditional tank controls where you control each track forwards/backwards individually, or with just normal and easy WASD steering. As a scouting vehicle it has lots of equipment like controlled camera, radar, signal flares and radios. It’s easy to transition to water mode and it has a top speed of 40 kph through water.

Start-up:

- Use the ladder at the back to get onto the roof.

- Open the hatch with the button on the roof between the top light and camera.

- Sit down in the driver seat on the left side.

- Turn the “POWER UP” key on the right side of the screens panel.

- Click the 3 buttons on the lower row of the front panel to turn on the 3 screens.

- Turn on the engines with the button at the front of the center console.

- Toggle off the parking brake button at the center console.

- There’s a flip switch on the center console that lets you switch to WASD steering mode.

- Be careful with the high speed gear and only use it for long flat roads.

useful info

When engaging the high speed gear, be careful when turning as a sharp turn can risk you rolling over.
If rolling over, you can use the winches to turn yourself back around.

The tank uses two medium engines where each engine controls one of the tracks.

The 2 propellers work exactly the same way as the tank tracks. Each track is connected to one engine the same way as each propeller is connected to one engine. So when turning you disengage one propeller and so the other one turns, and you can also turn on the spot like with the tank tracks by setting one propeller forwards and the other one backwards

By pressing [1] or [2] you can use the brakes on either of the sides turn to help turn or stop the tank.

When using the WASD you have all the same controls as with traditional tank controls. W/S will go forwards and backwards. When going forwards or backwards with W/S and turning with A/D at the same time it will just release the throttle on one side so you get a smooth turn. Using only A/D and no throttle with W/S makes you turn on the spot by setting one engine forwards and the other in reverse.

Features:

- Navigation lights
- Audio radios

- Winches

Haven't looked into the problems recently, but I assume the last update messed up a lot of stuff

It should float unless you start rotating the turret, The structure of turret's current version overlaps neighbor blocks when you rotate it and this is the cause of problems with floating. You should keep the turret in neutral position or rework the turret.

What do I do if it wants to be a submersible?

It's an old creation that I just spent 10 minutes on upgrading. Never did any extensive tests, but I'll see if I can find time to improve it

(rewriting all my posts as they were misleading) you've made a super compact turret, but its current version causes physics freaking out especially when aiming a target from the water using pitch axis (pitch up and the turret starts wiggling, then turn to a side and a vehicle starts rolling). ideally the turret should not wiggle from major intersections in its extreme positions, so its optimal design is not going to be the most fancy/compact

when driving this on the ground when going forward it turns
