Silence - Horns (Fixed)

In 1 collection by ClaudeJ
Silence Starter Pack
6 items
Description
Features the Seilimons fix. Deleted the misplaced res folder that also silenced the construction of the tracks.

Mutes the locomotive's horn sound, and that only, by deactivating the "horn" event.
Heavily inspired by ~Psyclone~'s "No horn sounds" mod for TPF1.

(Couldn't update the existing mod, I thus had to create this new one)

By default, the Horn doesn't sound very often, about only when the loco starts to roll in the depot.

The booer themeatballhero did publish a mod that cleverly makes it sound more often, that is when they do leave a station.

If you want you can add me and we could try to find and fix your issue sometimes during the weekend.

I'm slowly building a huge desert map for freight trains. I still don't have all the trains running or even all tracks placed, but when I tested a few trains the horns did not sound. There are no other sound mods active, I try to keep the mod count as low as possible as this map is huge and rather difficult to get started (sometimes it crashes at start).

No sweat mate.
As for your issue, does it happen with every train and are there other sound mods active?

You're right, this mod does not cause it. I disabled it and tried an alternative, replacing the bulldozer sound files with copies of the silence file and the horn still doesn't sound. Dunno what might be causing it then. Anyway, sorry for running into conclusions too quickly.

n.chiri,
I've just double checked the Bulldozer mod and I can't see any way it can affect the so called Horns too. It does replace a series of file named "bulldozelarge.wav", in the .\res\audio\effects\construction folder.
If you are inclined to do so, can you please double check on your end?
Cheers and stay safe.

Don't see myself using this, but I would like to mention when I started using the "Silence Bulldozer" mod, apparently it affected the horns too. I want to get rid of the annoying bulldozer noises, but not the horns.
