Shift Population Growth

Description
Tired of the late-game slog involved with moving pops around every month?

Me too!

This is a super-simple mod. Literally changed three lines. Now, the population controls decision shifts population growth to your other planets instead of shutting it off completely. You still get the stability debuff, so you are still paying a small price for the decision, but at least you'll stay sane!

Is the bug still in vanilla?

This mod shouldnt be necessary after all the time they had to correct the bug.

Only for population controls. All it changes is the growth modifier; without this mod, when you put population controls on, it puts a 100% emigration on the planet, but it also turns population growth to zero. The mod simply removes that latter part, so that pops continue to grow, but the growth amount is shifted to other planets through migration.

This doesn't seem to be doing anything for me. Does it only apply to population controls or does it also apply to the egalitarian "discourage growth" option as well?

I have not tested CrazyJ. I don't think there should be any changes, and I expect it could simply be updated to have the correct version number.

It's saying it's outdated. does it work with 2.7.2

@CrazyJ I honestly don't know. I'm not a modder, I wrote this just to address the one specific problem I had

looking to add this to my heavily modded run

does it break save games if loaded after start, also are there any mod compatability issues?

@Zorlond - there are two versions of the control. One is "Discourage Planetary Growth", which puts a -75% pop growth rate as well as a +100 emigration push. The other is "Declare Population Controls", which puts a -100% pop growth rate (as well as the same +100 emigration push).

It's likely the one you used is the latter.

Actually noticed that with pop controls on, growth doesn't completely stop, which makes sense since people are bound to slip through the cracks. But also that the flip-flop of emigration only every other month only happens once the planet runs out of jobs/housing, which also makes sense because there's no reason to slip through cracks when doing so just lands you in poverty.

Very nice little mod. :)
