[WOTC] Stormrider Cosmetics Pack

Description
"Equip your newly recruited Stormrider brawlers with apparel to strike fear into the hearts of the Aliens while giving them the gear for properly tuning in to their Psionic power"

2021 Update:
Good news everyone I have adjusted this mod to be not ass.

1: Redid the Helmet textures, 2: Introduced a new tintable version of the coats, 3: Introduced sliders into the mod.

Newer Images towards the end of the gallery.

Mod Information:

So while Iridar's Stormrider mod was in development, with his approval I started making this mod to go alongside his class back when people including myself were providing ideas about the Stormrider faction such as the idea that they were once Templars who split off into their own small faction, this mod was brainstormed to sorta fulfill that idea as a uniform and with the class mod being released so is this mod.

This mod is compiled out of 3 different small projects of mine compiled into one for a more fleshed out Stormrider themed outfit mod.

The first being the helmets themselves which were original to the mod, the second being the coat which I started working on a long time ago using some WIP Reaper coat assets inside the Xcom 2 WOTC asset files with the textures being made by a friend, the third being a set of Templar arm veins for normal soldiers with forearms intact which I plan to release shortly on it's own as a mini mod although I recolored them red here for the Stormriders

This mod requires the Anarchy Children DLC.

This Mod Includes

3 Helmets for each gender, each being a black and red recolor of the Templar helmets including a kitbashed helmet from Jsleezys Lost Files Restored which was a mod I also released using compiled "lost" assets from Jsleezys mod, brand new to this mod is a female version of the helmet although only in black and red for now.

2 sets of horns both broken and intact for both genders in the upper/lower props categories, these are the horns from Cavily's Destiny Lord Shaxx mod which the author has not only graciously given me permission to use for the mod but they have also made versions for females.

1 Coat for both genders as torso gear options, the female coat is just the same model as the male so it's a little big but that also allows for a little more flexibility with customization, you can't color the coat.

2 sets of red psionic veined Stormrider psionic arms for both genders in both bare and knuckle duster variations, unlike the Templar arms these are full armed and don't have their forearms chopped off to fit in the Templar Gauntlets.

The coat and arms are for normal soldiers only and not Faction classes.

I also recommend getting Claus's Templar Gear mod for more options for Templar armor with red lights (shoulder and skirt armor) https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1181815666

Issues:

Much like Kexx's EW Covert Operatives Outfits the coats are fitted for using smaller options like simple pants and shirts instead of armor, so clipping is to be expected depending on what you use but I encourage others to experiment with other mods and see what cool combinations you can come up with.

I recommend using my Jsleezys Lost Files Restored mod which includes the Faction underlay torso which is a good torso to use for both genders with no clipping with the coat.

Credits:

Cavily: For giving me permission to use the horns from his Lord Shaxx mod, creating new meshes for the female horns and the female variant of Jsleezy's Templar Helmet, as well as giving some touch ups on the horn textures.

Link to the original Lord Shaxx mod where the horns originate from https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1606937446

Jsleezy: For giving me permission to use and recolor his Templar Helmet variant in the mod.

Chef: For giving the Stormrider coat the textures to actually make it look good and not an untextured/badly textured mess.

Iridar: For allowing me to make this mod as a companion mod to his Stormrider class mod as well as inspiring me to make the mod in the first place.

I truly do recommend checking his class mod out, the creativity and gameplay of the class is truly unique as it is comparable to the quality of an official Firaxis DLC class.

Link to the class mod is below and although you don't need this mod to enjoy the class mod or vice-versa I do recommend using them together.

How come the tint-able version of the Stormrider coat take both the primary and secondary armor color?

Was looking at the coat, but I can't seem to find much that fits under it. Seems to clip on everything. Also doesn't appear to have physics. Is that true, or is just an issue with the bad angles of the Character Pool?

I wish there was a bit more to this. Also I'm very glad the author included the locations for the parts for this one because with several costuming mods it is VERY easy to lose sight of these.
Now get building a Warden class set of stuff...oh and more of this. I LOVE me some 'Riders! Heh. :-)

And by same model I also mean it's the same UPK and everything, in the Content.ini the male and female stuff is pointing/referencing the same archetype so if whatever mod is filtering out duplicates that's probably it.

Yeah there isn't any filtering in base game cosmetics so it's definitely a mod making things weird.

The coats are the same model so it's possible that whatever mod you guys are using is only retaining one use of that model which so happened to go with the female mode.

I know the original Unrestricted Customization had something like that, not sure about the newer one.

If you go into the female cosmetics while playing the game you can make the Stormrider Coat available to males by going into the outfit's options and checking the unchecked box for males. It should be available for both genders then.

Figured out a workaround. For me, the coats were being filtered out of the cosmetic list for males. If I unchecked "Male" in the filter options, the coat appears in the list and I can select it, then go back to do the rest. I don't know how the sorting works, but it's like the coat is not tagged as "Male", so it is hidden since "Male" is enabled by default when creating a new male soldier.
I can't remember if the filtering is a mod (it likely is, but I've used it so long, I can't remember) or if it's added as base game.

Ah I see, well again all I can suggest is to either redownload the mod after clearing your configs (google how to clear Xcom 2 Config files if you don't know how) or see if any other mods are messing anything up.

The coats

Males can't equip what specifically? The coats, arms or the helmets?

Without further context all I can say is that either the mod didn't properly download/install or there's a potential incompatibility when being used alongside some other mod in your list, this mod alone works.
