Norren Valley Line

Description
The Norren Valley Line is a fictional main line running approx 40 miles between the towns of Marshampton and Malinsbury, via Wessondon. The line is set in the mid 50s to mid 60s, somewhere on the joint midland and western regions. It is served mostly by steam locos of the western and midland regions, though diesels are a common sight and locos and stock from other regions can be spotted from time to timeThe landscape is that of the old Bala - Barmouth line, and the route itself roughly follows the path of the long lost route. The hilly nature of the original route makes this route a major challenge, even for expert drivers, as the line changes from long, flat stretches to punishingly steep gradients. The route also showcases several features, including 17 stations, 2 branchlines, goods facilities, Working TPO apparatus, working water troughs, and more! This route has been in development for nearly 4 years, and is still somewhat a work in progress. The line is completed to a good standard, and is scenic throughout (Updated pictures to follow), but still requires details adding in places to improve it further. If you find any errors/issues, please let me know. I am planning on making regular updates to the route, so feedback for changes is very helpful. The most recent update includes:Completing Scenery along the mainline section between Wessondon and MalinsburyCompleting scenery between Malinsbury and Parton QuarryAdded new Bay platform at MalinsburyUpdated junction at Malinsbury station to accommodate new platform and to loosen some extremely tight cornersFixed floating grass/foliage in most placesAdded scenery along all extentions from the mainline (e.g. Lines to Shrewsbury, Rhyl, Holyhead and Alderford)Completed scenery along all branchlines (Darlinford, Levenwood and Mertill Colliery)The next areas to work on are:Adding details to countryside sceneryAdding trackside details along the route and branchlinesAdding details to stations, yards, towns, etc.Updating pictures on Steam Workshop pageStarting work on an electrified 1970s version of the route...All Stations (In Order):Marshampton, Farlin Sands, Castlebridge, Norren Estuary, Kaye Valley Junction, Morton (Darlinford Branch), Gobson (Darlinford Branch), Darlinford (Darlinford Branch terminus), Arlesborough,Creston Vale Halt, Linn Fore, Wessondon Power Dam, Wessondon, Levenwood (Branchline), Croughton, Mertill, MalinsburyThe line is suitable for all types of service, from express passenger services, to slow freights, and simple shunting scenarios. It is also good for both beginners and advanced drivers, and is built to test your skills as a driver. As I previously stated, this is still a work in progress, so if you have any feedback, especially for problems and glitches, please get in touch and let me know what you think

Possible one of the best fictional railways on here... Love the TPO runs, great to see scenarios and some quick drive AI train....... All in All a jolly good effort...... Can't wait till it's fully finished.

It's not very far away. I've handed it to a handful of my friends to test before I upload it. However, it will be a separate route download because I had an issue with my game and had to duplicate the route. I will put a link to it in here when it is ready though

How close is this to final? Your degree comes first, but a 40 mile railway would be great for playing short scenarios on if people were to make any. Do some exist, speaking of that?

It's not too far from completion. It may take a while before i can fully publish it as i'm currently studying for a degree while working full time, but I'm aiming to get it done in the next few months

Not yet. I haven't made the route final on the steam workshop, so I can't upload scenarios for it. If you do want to run a TPO demonstration, I would recommend running a quick drive scenario from Malinsbury to Marshampton, and try to keep the train below 70mph. The TPO markers are set up to run with the quick drives included with the saint class. If you fancy running another loco, make sure the TPO coach is the second coach in the train
