Seelad's Core Mod

Description
This is a core/base mod for my models and textures. This mod does not add anything directly to the game and instead adds the armor meshes and textures from my previous mods into the game files without adding them to the game world.

This was done to modularize my content so if other creators (or myself) want to use my meshes and textures they can do so legitimately without redistributing them. For example, translations, armor packs, overhauls, 0-cut effeciency mods, etc.. can set this as a dependent mod and they will have access to the meshes and textures from this mod's directory.

Another example might be if one of my stand alone mods did something someone did not like (e.g. my sand armor spawns on some NPCs), they can set this mod as a dependency and re-implement my armor as they see fit then release their mod with this mod as a dependency.

What this mod does:
  • Adds armor entries to the game files
  • Adds material entries to the game files
  • Adds color entries to the game files

What this mod does NOT do (unless another mod changes it):
  • NPCs and players will NOT spawn with any of the armor in this mod.
  • Players will NOT be able to craft any of the armor in this mod.
  • Shops will NOT have any of the armor in their store.
  • All armor that was added to the game files will NOT be seen in-game.

All functionality must be implemented by other mods as this is ONLY a common mod for reusable meshes and textures.

Best practice for implementing this core mod:
  • Subscribe to this mod
  • Create a folder name "SeeladBaseMod" at directory Steam\steamapps\common\Kenshi\mods\SeeladBaseMod
  • Copy this mod folder from Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\233860\2058913475 to Steam\steamapps\common\Kenshi\mods\SeeladBaseMod
  • Open Knenshi game editor and create a new mod, select "SeeladBaseMod" as a required mod.
  • Duplicate the armor entries you want to add to the game world or modify. Duplicating the entries will help ensure compatibility with any mods that also use this mod.

Anyone is welcome to use this core mod without permission and can do so freely, but please be sure to set this mod as a dependency if you release a mod that uses it.

Ah yeah man that's cool! Yeah setting the largest overhaul for kenshi with a dependency would probably make a lot of people mad lol. Thanks anyways!

Honestly if it isn't set as a dependency I'd rather you don't use my work. Maybe my stance will change in the future.

Hey man. I'm the community admin for the Genesis World Overhaul team. I see you want to have the modder use this mod as a dependency but if it's alright with, would it be okay to include in the overhaul? you would be added as a contributor to the overhaul and be given credit for everything. If you want message me on discord @ Atlas#8060 to discuss if you would like.
