Operation Veritable

The objective of the operation is to clear German forces from the area between the Rhine and Maas rivers, east of the German/Dutch frontier, in the Reichswald Forest of the Rhineland. Your mission is to capture strategic towns of Cleve in the north and Goch in the south. Under your command are 4 battalions, 2 engineer companies and 2 recon platoons of 3rd Canadian infantry Division assisted by 4 artillery batteries from 2nd Canadian infantry Division and 4 tank companies from 4th Canadian Armoured Division. Your forces are located in two forests south of Nijmegen, artillery positions are prepared behind the forest to the west. Tanks are ready to support your attack from northern and southern roads. Engineers report of enemy mines on the southern road and western approaches to the Reichswald Forest.
