Better Feeding Trough

Description
Mod id: 2065998602

Basically the redwood trough, but no green circle.

This mod was just a simple mod to have a trough as good as the redwood mod, but no circle, since the redwood mod may never be updated, but it is now much more.

Spawn id: cheat giveitem "/Game/Mods/Better_trough/PrimalItemStructure_better_trough.PrimalItemStructure_better_trough" 1 0 0 false

If someone wants a new feature, I\'ll be happy too try my best and add it.

Current INI\'s:
[Better_trough]
trough-slots=(some-number)

(some-number):
Default is 300, if nothing is set.
Lowest you can go is 1
Highest is technically nothing, but above 600, if its destroyed, it\'ll only drop 600 items.

Current features:
-Individual range change per trough.
-Decent UI.
-An allowed items list that can be created, too support any mod item/ food, can be different per trough.
-No green ring, range is shown similar too S+.
-INI decidable item slot limit.

Need a server to play on?
GameServerApp (GSA) is a very good server hosting service, with a good support team. If that support team isn\'t avaliable, they also have a helpful discord community. They are also very easy to get started with your server, I got mine up in a few minutes.

Could you consider the possibility of putting a filter by Dino, like in S+? This allows you to define which Dinos will feed from that trough.

After thinking about it would it not be easier to make the trough allow all items to be placed inside by default but have a way to enable a list of acceptable items. Perhaps that way a user can place the items they want the trough to hold then activate the filter which will look at the currently held items and set itself so only items matching the ones inside will be allowed in the future. Might be easier that way if you are having trouble. If in the future that person wants other things added to the trough they simply disable the filter, add the new item along with the other older items, and enable it again.

After a bit of searching to no avail I did a scan of my local disk drives to find the ini under the name you gave us "[Better_trough].ini" and found NOTHING. I also tried searching for Better_trough.ini, Better trough.ini, and trough.ini with the same results. This means either you were wrong about the name of the ini file or there is no ini file at all. Furthermore, I am unable to put stone in here (meaning my Gacha can not use it either). To anyone looking at this it is still useful for most creatures but you will need at least 1 normal trough to feed the dinos this one will not support by default. I suggest the op put the correct name and default location of the ini file in the op so people can actually use it

I like the mod but it seems to not allow me to place eggs in the bin and thus will starve my Oviraptor (a dino that is in game by default) and although you claim to have included a way to add items there is no option in the UI to do this. Furthermore there is/was no mention of where the ini file to edit for this function is located and that is the only other place I can think of that this might be found. Thus making an edit that should only take a minute take 15 or more as I attempt to search for how to edit/fix it (ignoring the fact that the Oviraptor is a vanilla dino and should not need to have special rules added to work as default the way it does with the others).

Where is the .ini file located?

The spoil time needs to be adjustable too. Otherwise, this is an excellent trough.

The UI is very good and functional and the way the range is displayed is great.

The current features make this trough near perfect for making feeding more manageable when you have lots of dinos.

But the fact that consumable items you put in it never decay is a problem. It removes the need to manage feeding almost completely. I would personally prefer the vanilla decay rate over infinite storage, but adjustable would be ideal as I'm sure others' preference would be different.

hallo,
thanks for this great mod, ...it works perfect for me.
but one thing...
is it possible to make the spoil time adjustable (ui or ini)?
or can you make a non adjustable version with 1/3 of the actual spoil time (or normal refrigator spoil time)?

best regards

Locking system works, thank you!
Joehelp  [author] 20 Feb, 2021 @ 9:26am
Also, i did notice that the reason you can't unlock it, is because its not able to be locked or unlocked at all. I had put in a permanent lock system, that has no way of being toggled, but I'll be sure to fix that, when I update it.
