LowResBrut - Dystopian Townhouses

Description
Set of dirty townhouses. Use Findit! and search "brut" or "tetris".

Includes left, middle, and right buildings in versions with/without the props.
Also includes prop, and functioning carparks.

All assets share the same 1024 texture, and have 128 and below lod textures. Despite the filesize, there's only about 3.5mb of unique data in here. Using Loading Screen Mod will let you benefit from this.

The shape is based on these Danish townhouses; https://earth.google.com/web/@55.65173082,12.36621714,10.42497603a,30.07981892d,35y,126.13078511h,33.63791383t,0r

Supposed to be low density filler for your futuristic(or not) dystopia. Had lots of problems with it despite it being a bunch of lightly textured boxes. I have more badly made filth buildings in the pipeline.

Tips and criticism welcome.

Thanks.
I'm not playing Cities recently, but i'm not done with it. When I do I'll probably make more stuff.

Great work on these buildings! Do you have any plans to make more dystopian style assets?

No problem! ^^

And thank you for the lovely assets! :D

I see. The LODs definately don't need to be so large.

Thanks again technical help is really appreciated.

I don't have an example of it, but I can grab a screenshot next time I'm in the game to show you the atlas if the description doesn't make sense. But yeah, if you imagine all LOD textures are placed side by side on one large texture. That's pretty much how it looks. :)

Basically the game makes one giant texture for all LODs (iirc there's one for buildings, one for prop, one for networks etc), which has a max size. It's either 4k or 8k resolution. Once that gets full, it scales down everything to make space for more LOD textures. So the more assets we have, the more LOD textures need to fit on that limited size. And large LOD textures take up more space, meaning the game is forced to scale down the LOD texture atlas earlier, meaning all LOD textures get smaller.

That means a lot coming from someone as prolific as you.

Could you elaborate on the large LOD textures affecting other LOD textures, or link me some info? It sounds like a problem I can't ignore.

Oooh love the look of these! :steamhappy:

A recommendation though, the LOD textures should be much smaller. Small buildings like this should go for 128x128. Because of the way LODs work, having a building with a large LOD texture like this decreases the quality of all LOD textures. :)

Anyways, big thumbs up! Love the worn paint especially <3
